  1. Maryellen Curtis

    Hello All in Moyvane,

Especially the Enrights. I am Maryellen Curtis
Grandaughter of Ellen T. Enright (Staples) born and raised in Tarmon’s Tarbert.

I missed seeing you all this past June when I was in Tarbert – I did get to see my Holly cousins and meet Patrick Flynn in Tarbert who took me to my great Grandmothers house on ..> Scenic Road – and to meet Mike Ahearn who worked with my great uncle Joddy ( John Enright) I am also related to the O’Sullivan’s, Buckley’s, and McElligot’s ( My great Uncle,Father Tom McElligot married Dan and I at Saint Ambrose Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts in May of 1966 – he was the head of the Columban Fathers Seminary in Milton, Mass.
I am so sorry that I never got to see you and visit your pub we were given wrong directions but being Irish I believe that means that on my next visit I will have that great pleasure – My Great Grandmother was Margaret Elizabeth Sheehy married to John Enright – they had 5 girls and one son John – the girls were Elizabeth, Ellen ( my grandmother) Delia, Theresa, and Molly.

God’s blessing on all of you – looking forward to a visit and a pint.

  13. Eileen Walsh (Kearney)

What a wonderful site! To be able to view the past and present of my heritage. My father Patrick Kearney of the Glin Rd. would have also enjoyed this site. But sadly he has been gone 7yrs. now and he is greatly missed. It’s been 10yrs. since I have been back and I can’t wait to visit again. In the meantime I send warm wishes to Moyvane.

  14. Dave Kelly

Love the site, so much interesting info. My father is Dave Kelly from Tarmons East. I was telling him how much I loved the stories and writings by the local authors, especially pieces by Dan Keane. He then told me about how Mr. Keane used to visit my grandmother, Maggie Kelly. He also recalled a poem of Mr. Keane’s that included references to my grandmother and some of the other people that lived nearby. I just wondered if he may have written something like this in a collection of his work. Any help would be great. Thank you.

  15. Sean O'Connell

Hi. I’m Trying to trace my family tree and I think the O’CONNELL’s came from the Moyvane area. My gggg grandfather is buried at Knockanure cemetary. His name was Edward/Edmond O’Connell. His sons lived in Ballybunion and Abbeydourney but I keep seeing references to Moyvane and Kilbaha in my searchs. Would there still be O’Connells living at Kilbaha West or anyone that has info about them.
