CONCERT MOYVANE; Liam and Brian to perform in Church fundraiser

Liam O’Connor and Brian Kennedy who will perform together in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane. Liam O’Connor Show with special guest Brian Kennedy will be in Concert in Moyvane Church on Tuesday 10th March 2020.

THEY have already collaborated, for concerts in St Brendan’s College and the Franciscan Friary in Killarney and now Liam O’Connor and Brian Kennedy are joining forced once again for what promises to be a very special performance.

PARISH LENTEN MISSION: Friday 27th/Saturday 28th /Sunday 29th March, there will be a Parish Mission in both Churches.

LENT: Please note that starting Wednesday 4th March there will be 7.30am workers Mass each Wednesday of Lent – Throughout Lent confessions will be available at 7pm before Vigil Mass and in Knockanure at 9.30am on Sundays. Masses for Ash Wednesday (February 26th ) are; Knockanuare 9.30an and Moyvane 11am and 7.30pm.

FUND MEETING: Kilpaddoge-Moyvane-Knockanure Community Sponsorship Fund. Below is the text being place in the newspapers in relation to the fund.

“EirGrid manages and plans the electricity transmission grid across the island of Ireland. Together with ESB Networks, we are working towards completing an electricity infrastructure project between the substations of Knockanure and Kilpaddoge near Tarbert. We are always grateful for the support and understanding of local communities, and have established a Community Sponsorship Fund with a value of €205,000 to benefit those along the route of the project.

DRAMA: Ardagh Drama Group are currently in rehearsal for their next production “Nobody is Talking to Me” which will  be staged in Castlemahon Hall on Thursday February 20, Friday February 21, Sunday February 23 (Benefit Night), Thursday February 27, Saturday February 29, and Sunday March 1. REACH ACTIVE WORKS Cable installation works will continue between Gale Bridge and Moyvane Village (up to Newtownsandes Co-op) from Monday 24th to Friday 28th . These works will be complete under traffic light traffic management systems with passing bays being used at cable joint locations. Minor work will take place on the Trien road from Monday the 24th to Friday the 28th of February under a single lane road closure from 8am to 6pm. Padraig  086/6072159. KN WORKS: Minor works will take place on the Moyvane road from Monday the 24th to Friday the 28th of February. These works will be between Barragougeen Cross and Moyvane Village and will be under a stop and go or traffic light traffic management system. Cable jointing works will commence on the Piermount road on Monday the 17th, these works will be complete under a single lane closure. Shane 087/9829576.

LADIES HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLASSES will commence at Listowel Family Resource Centre on Tuesday. February 25 at 8pm. Each class will focus on a number of key areas including; healthy lifestyle tips, exercise routines and mindfulness / posture advice. All welcome to attend.

RAINBOWS PROGRAMME Names are currently for the Rainbows Programme at Listowel Family Resource Centre. The programme is designed  to offer  a 9 week listening, group support programme for children following a bereavement or parental separation. Children participating will be grouped together depending on their age and loss experience. The course is suitable for children from age 7 years and in 1st class up to 6th class. SOCIAL FARMING TRAINING: Social Farming is the practice of offering activity on family farms as a form of Social Support service. In Social Farming the farm remains a working farm at its core but invites people to participate in the day to day activities on the farm. The Silver Entente Florale Plaque which was awarded to Listowel in Austria in late 2019, will be unveiled in the Square (beside the Tidy Towns sculpture) at 2pm. VARIETY CONCERT IN AID OF ST. JOHN OF GODS SERVICES Will take place on Friday 13th March in the Listowel Arm’s Hotel 7.30pm. to 10pm.

Over 30’s Soccer Match at 7pm at the Soccer Grounds.  |On Wednesday March 4 we’ll have a gardening talk and sale of plants in the Day Care Centre at 7pm.  Friday March 6 a raffle at Philip’s Singing Night, The Lost Souls in Leens at a Gin Night and a Poker Classic in JD’s.  Saturday, March 7 Paul Murphy has a Pop Up Restaurant in the Day Care, Sunday March 8 a Tea Dance at Fr. Casey’s with Mike Condon .Then, the following Wednesday we’ll have a talk on bee keeping at 7pm.  Friday, March 13  Jeremiah Roche will be the compere of a dance competition at the Railway with music by DJ Pat O’Donnell – novelty prizes for waltzes and jives.  Saturday, March 14 Art and Prosecco Night at St. Ita’s Day Care (if you drink enough prosecco you won’t know your art from your elbow).  Sunday March 15 Abbeyfeale RFC v Skibbereen RFC 2.30pm on the Rugby grounds.   Monday, March 16 A Donkey Derby – details to be confirmed and no real donkeys will be harmed.
