PADRE PIO: The monthly prayer service in honour of Padre Pio will take place in Castleisland Parish Church on Tuesday, January 9 at 7.30pm. The witness will be Garda Mary Gardiner on the theme: Belief in the face of adversity. The Tralee stationed Garda Mary Gardiner was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022.

DEATH of Michael Sheehy, Scrahan, Duagh, 29th on December 2023. Michael, son of the late John and Betty, is sadly missed by his sisters Margaret and Nuala, brother Leo, nieces Triona and Kathlyn, nephew John, sister-in-law Bridget, Triona’s husband Graham, grandnephew Jack, and grandniece Emma. Requiem Mass for Michael was celebrated at St. Brigid’s Church, Duagh on Thursday, 4th January. Burial afterwards in Springmount Cemetery, Duagh.

DEATH of Peter Stackpoole of 10 Clanmaurice, Lixnaw, and late of Lr. Athea, on 3rd January, 2024. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Bridie. Survived by his family, son Martin, daughter Samantha and their mother Marie, Martin’s partner Karolina, brothers John, Tom and Dan and sisters. Hannah Mai Murphy (Rockchapel) and Helen Cregan (Ballyhahill), sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, and nephews. Reposing at “The Day Chapel” Abbeydorney on Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm. Arriving to St. Michael’s Church, Lixnaw on Monday morning for 11 a.m. requiem mass streamlined on Burial afterwards in Lixnaw Lawn Cemetery.

RECOVERY HAVEN: Kerry Cancer Support House will have a Designer Fashion Showcase event taking place in the Gleneagle INEC Arena on February 1st, 2024. The date – St Brigid’s Day – is particularly poignant for those involved, with the show set to incorporate the extraordinary Irish saint and mark her 1500th anniversary.
