Marriage took place recently of Kathy Toolan of Kilmorna and Martin Scanlon of Lisselton. Bridesmaids were Kate Pierce and Christina Toolan. Best man was Sean McMahon and Groomsman was Richard Toolan.

DEATH took place on April 7, 2009 of Paddy Hanrahan of Coilagurteen, Moyvane. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine Moloney and is survived by his son Gerry, his siblings include Mary, Sr. Anastacia (Kit) , Eileen, Peg, Nora, Bridget, Joan, Jer, Tady and Jack, Following the Liturgy of the Word at Knockanure Church on Holy Thursday April 9th Paddy Hanrahan was laid to rest beside his wife Catherine who died on January 17th 1984.Paddy was born at Moher Moyvane 88 years ago to Gerry Hanrahan and Margaret Ahern.

Death has taken place of Joe Walsh of Upper Dirreen, Athea, following requiem Mass in Athea Church Joe Walsh was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery Athea.

Death; Fr. Mike Dalton, died on April 6th 2009 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Courtland, Ontario he was just a month from his 107th birthday, Fr Mike was son of Morgan Dalton and Mary O Sullivan of Kingsbridge, Ontario. During WW11 he was chaplain to the Canadian troops in Europe.

Death has taken place of Sr. Virgilius Flavin of the Presentation Convent Castleisland. Sr Virgilius (Bridget) was daughter of Batt Flavin of Knockane, Listowel and Margaret Walsh of Knockadirreen, Duagh. Her siblings were Fr Bob, Fr Tim, Denis, Mike, John, Nance Kelliher, and Molly Sullivan. Following Requiem Mass at Castleisland Church on Monday April 13th `09, Sr. Virgilius Flavin was laid to rest at the Convent Cemetery beside Castleisland Church, Sister joined the Presentation order c 1940.

HOLY Week ceremonies were well attended in the Parish, the choir sang at Easter Sunday Mass, Mrs Cunningham was organist, thanks is due to all who took part and helped with the choir and all who helped during Lent with the Stations of the Cross and special thanks to our Parish Priest Fr Lucid who has to cope with so much day after day. Many of our friends and relations from home and abroad joined us for the Easter Holidays hope they had a happy and a safe holiday.
