DAN Keane will be launching his book of limericks “A Kerrymans

BELL: Moyvane/Knockanure Eucharistic Bell Ceremony on next
Thursday 17th November, 2011. Bell arriving Moyvane 3pm and
Knockanure at 4.30pm. Ceremony for Both Churches. Confirmation
& First Holy Communion, Children to carry Bell in to Church,
Exposition Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, Rosary, Liturgy of
Word. The Eucharistic Congress Bell will be arriving in the
Diocese this Wednesday 16th November. The Parish of Tarbert and
Tarbert Comprehensive School will receive the Bell from the
Diocese of Limerick at the picnic area on the Glin Road at 1pm.
The Bell was due to be at 7.30 Mass in Abbeyfeale on Nov. 15th;
Bell in Listowel on Friday, It will be present for a school
assembly in the Gael Scoil at 9.00 a.m., the Boys School at 9.30
a.m. St. Mary’s Church at 10.15 a.m. Mass. It will continue to
the Presentation Primary / Nano Nagle at 11.10 a.m. and
Killocrim School at 11.40 a.m. when it will process onto Duagh
Parish at 12 noon.. Special prayers will take place at the 10.30
a.m. Listowel Mass and students from the Presentation Secondary
School, St. Michael’s College and Community College will be

WAR heroes have been honoured in Armistice Day commemorations
around the world.11- 11-11 mark the 93rd anniversary of the end
of the World War I. 18,000 New Zealanders were killed during
the war. Half of the 100,000 New Zealanders who served overseas
in the war were wounded.
DEATH took place on November 9th 2011 of Mai Lane, nee Woulfe
aged 89 years of Pilgrim Hill, Kilmorna, and late Cratloe West,
Athea, on Nov. 9, 2011. Mai was predeceased by her husband Mike
Joe and sister Phil Woulfe and is survived by daughter Eileen,
sons Paddy, Mike, Billy and Johnny, brother Timmy, sister Nora
Broderick, Coilagurteen. Requiem Mass for Mai Lane was
celebrated at St. Bridget’s Church, Duagh on the 11th of 11th
’11. Mai Lane was laid to rest at Ahavoher Cemetery beside her
husband Mike Joe Lane who died 11th October 2000 aged 80 year.
DEATH took place on November 8th 2011 of Peg Stack ,nee Shine of
The Reeks, Beaufort, Killarney and formerly of Glin, Co.
Limerick) Nov. 8, 2011, Peg in her mid 90’s was predeceased by
her husband Pat and is survived by children Michael, Conor, June
O’Sullivan and Paddy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Requiem Mass for Peg Stack was celebrated in The Prince of
Peace Church, Fossa on 11th Nov. ’11. Peg was born at Kilbaha,
Moyvane to Bill Shine and Mary Ann Kearney, her sister Kitty
died many years ago, her sister Mary nursed in England and her
brother Connie Bill a farmer, was a rugby player in his youth
and was also chairman in the local creamery committee, died
suddenly 26th April 1968.
DEATH took place unexpectedly of Michael John Waugh of Bandon,
Co Cork on November 7th 2011, Mass for Mr Waugh was celebrated
at St Patrick’s Church, Bandon on Thursday 10th November 2011.
DEATH took place on November 8th 2011 of William Aloysius Keane,
who was born in Philadelphia on Oct. 5, 1922 to Aloysius and
Florence Keane. As a child, he drew on his bedroom walls. When
the family moved to Arizona in 1959, Wil Keane began drawing
“The Family Circus,” The Family Circus,” published in about
1,500 newspapers. He married an Australian Thelma Carne after
the war. Mrs. Keane died in 2008 and he is survived by sons
Jeff, Neal, Glen and Christopher; a daughter, Gayle Keane; nine
grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
