BISHOP:  On the 21st July Fr Ray Browne will be ordained Bishop of Kerry diocese. Tickets for the Cathedral seats were drawn in Moyvane after mass last Sunday.

CONGRAULATIONS to locals who recently cycled the Ring of Kerry, Paudie Flavin, Donnchadh Woods, Tom McMahon, Billy Reidy, Kathy Finucane, Donnchadh Moloney, Tony and Seamus Ahern and several more.

Congratulations also to Moyvane Girls U 14 who recently beat Dr. Croake’s to win the County League. The U16 Ladies team beat Kerins O Rahilly and of course our own Breda Lane was on the team that won the Ladies Munster Final.

POPE Francis has decided to grant a plenary and partial Indulgence to all those who take part in the 28th World Youth Day that will be celebrated from 22 to 28 July in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil . Following the event online will also gain an indulgence.

DEATH took place on 8th July 2013 of  Anna Mai Sweeney, nee Quinn of 15 Hillside Drive, Athea. She was predeceased by her husband Pat Sweeney who was a native of Moyvane. Anna Mai is survived by daughters Joanne and Breda, sons Patrick, Dara and Jonathan, sisters, brother, mother-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Requiem Mass for Anna Mai Sweeney was celebrated in Athea Church on 10th July 2013. Afterwards Anna Mai was laid to rest beside her husband in Holy Cross Cemetery.
