DEATH of Bridie Moloney (née Moriarty), Leitrim Middle, Moyvane and late of Coolard, Listowel, on February 18th, 2023, wife of the late Michael and sister of the late Mary, Eileen and Peggy. Bridie Moloney will be sadly missed by her sons Tommy and James, daughter-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law Michael and Jerry. Requiem Mass for Bridie was celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane, on Tuesday morning, followed by burial afterwards in Murhur Cemetery, Moyvane.

DEATH of Philomena O’Connor (née Farrelly), Kilbaha, Moyvane, on February 18th, 2023, at her home. Wife of the late Mike and sister of the late Eddie, Maureen, Kathleen and Jenny. Philomena is survived by her daughters Breda and Mena, sons Eddie and Tony, daughters-in-law Eileen and Patricia, sons-in-law Wolfgang and Micheál, grandchildren Alex and her husband Stephan, Mario and his partner Síle, Donnchadha, Áine, Éamon, Michelle and Conor, sisters-in-law Mary and Nora, nephews, and nieces. DEATH of Patrick O’Keeffe remembered on February 22-2023, which marks the 60th anniversary of his death, he was of one of the most influential, inspirational traditional Irish musicians of the 20th century.

DRAMA Workshop; The Drama League of Ireland, through the support of the Arts Council, will be bringing a drama workshop to the Glórach, Abbeyfeale on Saturday, March 25, with stage and screen actor Diarmuid de Faoite as tutor. Known for his roles in Ros na Rún, Corp agus Anam and the film Black 47, Diarmuid will be giving tips in both acting and directing. YOUTH: Ceiliúradh na nOg celebration day will take place this year on Tuesday, March 14th 2023 in the Brandon Hotel, Tralee. This event celebrates the faith of our young people in Post-Primary schools throughout the diocese. Up to 400 young people participate in this event, representing many schools throughout the diocese.

COMPLAINT: Deputy Michael Healy Rae TD has condemned the actions of the National Driver License Service office which refused to accept a payment of €35 in cash from a 75 year old man recently.

WAR: A series of files consisting of claims for damages by individuals for injuries or death during Ireland’s War of Independence or Civil War have been transferred from the Department of Finance to the National Archives. Work will now begin on these files preparing them for public release in April 2023.
