May Altar was a tradition in most homes and still many decorate Our Lady with wild flowers.

PPC Meeting; There will be a Parish Pastoral Council meeting on Thurs. May 9th in the Sacristy at 8pm. Items for the agenda before May 3rd.

MEALS on Wheels Knockanure/Moyvane would like to let people know that the meals are not just for the elderly. Anyone young or old can avail of the service. We deliver 3 days a week, Monday for Monday & Tuesday, Wednesday for Wednesday & Thursday and Friday for Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The service is handy for people who may be convalescing, after been in hospital or living alone or maybe just doesn’t like to cook. The meals are €6 for an average size and €8 for a large. RALLY for Life Saturday 6th July at 2pm, at the Garden of Remembrance on Parnell Square in Dublin city Centre.

CONGRATULATIONS to Nora Curtin who was the April winner of, Split the Bucket. Nora won €219 and the winning envelope was bought in The Amber Station. Thank you to our Parents Association for all their hard work and support. It is greatly appreciated.

THANKS: Parents Association would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You, to our volunteers who helped and wider community who dropped clothes for Murhur N.S spring clothes collection. From this collection all funds raised will go towards our school for resources & activities for our children. A total of 1380kg was collected.

GRANDPARENTS Day was celebrated at Knockanure Church and school on 26th of April, it was a joy to hear the children singing the Hymns and taking part in the celebration. The church was packed, it was a day to remember for all who attended.

DEATH has taken place of Elizabeth (Liz) Galvin (née Lyons), Billeragh, Listowel and late of Knockavallig, Duagh, on April 23rd, 2024, wife of the late Michael and aunt of the late Mary Scanlon. Liz is survived by her son TJ, daughter Michelle, granddaughter Clodagh, partner Ned Hickey, brother John, sisters Hanna Mai (Scanlon), Kathy (Kennelly) and Theresa (Dillane), daughter-in-law Bridget, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and neighbours.

DEATH of Vincent O’Doherty, Killeshin House, Dirha West, Listowel, on April 11th, 2024. Predeceased by his father Conor, grandparents Jeremiah O’Driscoll, Vincent and Maureen O’Doherty and his uncle Bryan. Vincent is survived by his heartbroken family, his mother Arleen and her partner David, sisters Bonita and Zara, grandmother Helen O’Driscoll, girlfriend Sadie, uncle James, aunts Sharon, Nicola, Zara and Angela, grandaunts, granduncles, cousins, and extended family in Moyvane parish.

DEATH of John G. Carmody of New Jersey, New York & formerly of Meen Listowel on April 20, 2024. He was born in Meen, Listowel , on May 10, 1941 to the late Nora and John Carmody. John is survived by his wife Anne and his children, Ann, Bernice and John. Also, his son-in-law Travis King and his daughter-in-law Rachel Carmody. And his 5 grandchildren, the lights of his life, Victoria, Isabella and Michael Pagan and Maeve and John Carmody. He is pre-deceased by his son-in-law John Pagan Jr. and his brother, Patrick Carmody. To honour his life, friends and family gathered on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. Interment to immediately follow the service.

SYNCHRONOSING OF EVENING MASS TIMES: Listowel Parish Pastoral Council have decided to synchronise all our evening masses to 6.15 p.m. as from the first weekend in June 2024. That is 1st Friday / St. Padre Pio / Holy Day Vigils – all will be at 6.15pm. Excluding Easter & Christmas Vigils and Mass of Remembrance in November will be as announced.

FIRST Saturday devotions will be held on Sat. 4th May commencing at 8.45am in the Church of the Resurrection Killarney, beginning with the Fatima intentions and prayer. Followed by the Rosary at 9am. Mass at 9.30am then 15 mins meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary.

All will be done with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
