SCOIL Chorp Chriost: Congratulations to Maedbh McEvoy and Evan Flavin who won awards for their poetry compositions at the Dan Keane/ Writers Week Poetry competition recently.

Congratulations Also to all the pupils who participated in the Scriobh Leabhar competition run by Foras na Gaeilge. Awards were won by the junior Infants class and 5th and 6th classes. Individual awards were won by Niamh McAuliffe Rang 1 and Carol Clancy Rang 6.

GREEN Flag: On Friday June 25th Knockanure N.S.  will raise its first Green Flag, awarded by An Taisce. This award is given to schools that are environmentally aware and recycle as much waste as possible. Well done to Miss Noirin Buckley and her school committee who co-ordinated the effort and made this award possible. The Green Flag Ceremony will take place at 12 noon on Friday June 25th , all are welcome.

GAA Moyvane Ladies Football U-6s to U-10s Training began on Monday 21st at 7 o’clock, new players welcome.

Margaret describes her life from upbringing in Direen Athea, to going into the nuns at a very young age being in Zimbabwe during the troubles working as a nun-nurse and having to hide during an attack on the convent.
