RACES: Listowel had great racing days, people for generations have remarked on the fact that the weather is always suitable for the September racing in Listowel. This year the Amusements which were held near the Community Centre in Listowel were a bit congested with fewer machines available, it may be great for parents, but the youth were less than satisfied. The Wrenboy night on Friday 19th of Sept. was a beautiful night, the weather was marvellous and the shows were a credit to all the volunteers, congratulations to Fr Moore and the Carrigkerry Wrenboys who were champions. The Wrenboy Competition contributes more to local culture that all the glossy brochures coming from the experts. Racing again in Tralee Sept. 30th .Spare a thought for farmers had extra work during the fine days to try and catch up jobs delayed by the wet weather, most people in the public sector have no worries about work and can plan their way around things.

NEW Moon on September 29th, hope the fine weather continues into October, some farmers have a high tax bill this year due to the rise in the price of milk last year, the higher costs and the bad weather and the tax bill will leave many with an undue burden
