BEST Wishes to Bridie Sheehan who is retiring after been Postmistress in Moyvane for the past 21 years. It was always a pleasure to meet Bridie. The late Dick Sheehan husband of Bridie continued the families long tradition of running the Post office, Catherine Shine aunt of Dick ran the Post Office for many years, she died on May 21st 1983 aged 86 years, the 1911 Census reports that Nora Richardson nee Shine aged 60 years was Postmistress then, she was assisted by Bridie Shine aged 21 years.

DEATH has taken place of Peg Stack nee Danaher of Charleville, she was born 83 years ago to Matt Danaher of Woodcliff, Ballyhahill and Nora Daly of Duagh. Peg Stack was predeceased by her husband Tom who died on November 14th 2008, she is survived by her daughter Norah (Butler), sons Mort, Tom and Garry, her brother Fr Mort Danaher, sisters Joe Heffernan in Limerick and Anna Smithwicks in Canada. Siblings Fr Leo, Patsy, Mary, Rena and Matt predeceased Peg. Following Requiem Mass at Charleville Church Celebrated by Fr Mort Danaher and cousin Fr Mort Stanley and local priests, Peg Danaher was laid to rest beside her husband Tom in the local cemetery.
