MICROWAVES, on the other hand, heat food from the inside-out. They
emit microwave radiation— longer waves that penetrate deeply into the
food—causing water, sugar, and fat molecules inside the food to
vibrate rapidly. This generates heat from within—but not evenly.
Depending on the food’s composition, some areas heat up quickly while
others lag, leaving uneven results and hot spots.

HOW to Have the Conversations You’ve Been Avoiding
My guest, Joseph Grenny, says that some of the biggest problems in
every organization, from businesses to families, aren’t the issues
themselves, but people’s inability to talk about them. Joseph is a
business social scientist and consultant, and the co-author of the
bestselling book Crucial Conversations. For decades, he’s studied why
people shut down or blow up when the stakes are high, emotions are
strong, and opinions differ.
Today on the show, we talk about what makes a conversation “crucial,”
why our brains betray us in conflict, and how to escape the false
choice between maintaining a relationship and speaking honestly.

BIRDS: A lawn, “When it comes to a lawn, our advice for people hoping

goodness in the ground. It also means you can create something truly
beneficial for birds… an odd dandelion here and there, a patch of
clover, a couple of worms, or a delicious black fat beetle.”

WIND Jan 2026
The UK has awarded subsidy contracts for offshore wind projects to
generate enough power for 12m homes, giving a new lease of life to an
industry that is being throttled on the other side of the Atlantic.
Securing this power puts the UK on track to reach the government’s
objective of a virtually carbon-free electricity system by 2030.
Britain has placed an enormous bet on offshore wind, and the award of
8GW of offshore wind projects is the largest such auction to take
place in Europe.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) — South Africa declared a national
disaster Sunday over torrential rains and floods that have killed at
least 30 people in the country’s north, damaged thousands of homes and
washed away roads and bridges.
The declaration was made by the head of the National Disaster
Management Center and announced by the government. It allows the
national government to coordinate the response to the disaster.
The worst impact is in the northern provinces of Limpopo and
Mpumalanga, where the fatalities occurred. But the Ministry of
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs said at least three
other provinces had also been affected by the severe weather.
Parts of South Africa and neighboring Mozambique and Zimbabwe have
experienced heavy rains for weeks. That resulted in severe flooding in
central and southern Mozambique and northern South Africa. More than
100 people have died in the three countries since the rains began late
last year.
—————————–
The premier of Limpopo province said the weather had caused around
$240 million in damage in her province, with many houses and buildings
washed away completely.
More than 100 people died in floods last year in South Africa’s
Eastern Cape province in the south of the country, while more than 400
died in flooding in the eastern KwaZulu-Natal province in 2022.

ADVERTISING: How Does Advertising Impact Climate Change?
Advertising significantly exacerbates climate change by promoting
unsustainable consumption and lifestyles, necessitating critical
reevaluation and systemic change.

CLIMATE: The Earth’s climate is in crisis; it’s reaching the point
where it’s beyond repair.
There is still time to restore the Earth to a more healthy
equilibrium, however, if we all switch to low-carbon lifestyles. The
advertising and marketing industry has the power to encourage people
to adopt low-carbon lifestyles and it must seize this opportunity
before it’s too late.

ELECTRICITY: BY: James Conor Patterson- March 25, 2025
EIRGRID says that it expects demand for electricity in Ireland to grow
by 45% by 2034, with the peak requirement for power rising by just
under a quarter over the same time period.
The body, which currently manages Ireland’s electricity grid, has said
that between now and 2027 the outlook for demand will prove
‘challenging’ unless new power sources are synthesised. Demand is
already scaling up as a result of new data centres being constructed,
the electrification of heat and transport, and the growing proportion
of electric vehicles on the road.

SOLAR: Dairy farmers with solar installed by ProSolar have seen
electricity cost reductions averaging 80%. This saving puts €6,400
back in the farmer’s pocket each year – €64 per cow.
An average Irish dairy cow produces 5,500L of milk per year, so the
€64 saving per cow equates to 1.16 cent per litre of milk produced.

SOLAR System; An incredible space event might be happening in the
heavens, and it is likely that we are going to miss it. The Kepler-89
system is so far the only other place in the universe where we have
seen a planetary alignment, where two exoplanets end up eclipsing each
other as they pass in front of their star. This means that four
celestial bodies – Earth, the star Kepler-89 A, and two of its four
planets, Kepler-89Ad and Kepler-89Ae – will all be on a single line.
The team that saw it the first time think it’s about to happen again.
The alignment of three or more celestial bodies is known as a
syzygy… at least in the Solar System, it is. This is exactly what
happens when there is a solar eclipse like the one happening
