DEATH of Sr. Attracta Carmody, Presentation Convent, Castleisland, and formerly of Clountubrid, Listowel and the Convents of Killarney, Caherciveen and Cork on May 15th 2024. Predeceased by her father John, her mother Elizabeth and her brothers John and Tom. Sadly missed by the Presentation Sisters, her brothers Richard (Cork), Fr. Brendan S.J. (PP Moyvane), her sisters Patricia (Tralee) and Mai (Tipperary), sister-in-law Marie, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, her dearly cherished great-grandniece, extended family, and a large circle of friends.

Requiem Mass for Sister Attracta was celebrated at Castleisland Parish Church on Friday morning, and burial afterwards in The Presentation Convent Cemetery.

DEATH took place on 11th May 2024 of Liam Breathnach (Walsh) – (Killiney, Co. Dublin and formerly of Ahalahana, Moyvane, and late of the Department of Justice), husband of Breda and Dad of Siobhán, Brian, Conor, Cormac, Liam and Fionán, grandad of Orna, Fergus, Sorcha, Davin, Sadbh, Oisín, Finn, Lúc, Caoimhe, Orla, Éabha and Eoin. He will be missed by his family, son-in-law Jim, daughters-in-law Brigitte, Yvonne, Helen and Catherine, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Removal on May 16th to Our Lady of Victories Church, Sallynoggin for 10am Requiem Mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Whitestown Cemetery, Rush, Co. Dublin.

DEATH of Julia McSweeney (née Fitzgerald), Upper Aughrim, Moyvane, and late of Glin, on May 12th, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Bernard, son Eugene, brother Tom, sisters Nell Dore (Athea) and Mary. Julia will be sadly missed by her daughter Mary, son Eamon, son-in-law Jerry, grandchildren Bernard, Eugene and Diarmuid, great-grandchildren Jack, Liam, Kai and Liam Óg, nephew Pat Dore, and niece Bridie Dore. Funeral arriving to the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane, on Wednesday morning with the Requiem Mass for Julia being celebrated at 11.30 am, followed by burial afterwards in Ahavoher Cemetery, Moyvane.

TARBERT MASS– The 11.30am Mass on Sunday 19th May will now be held in the P.E. hall in the Comprehensive School to mark the school’s Golden Jubilee. It’s a great opportunity for the community to mark the schools 50th year. Refreshments will be available to everyone after the Mass, as well as a tour of the school.

FUNDRAISING: Duagh N.S. have organised a fundraising 5km Walk on the Greenway in Listowel on Sat 25th May. The proceeds of the 5km Walk will be in aid of a well-being area in the school playground.
