CLOTHES Collection will take place on Thursday 28th February between 12 – 4pm at the Community Centre, Moyvane. Bags can also be dropped off on Wednesday 27th between 6 – 8pm.

All funds raised will go towards running Moyvane Ladies Football Club.

ALERT: Community Alert meeting was due to be held in Knockanure on 19th Feb at 8pm.

SENIOR CITIZENS Party will take place on Sunday the 24th February at 1pm. in the Listowel Arm’s Hotel. All welcome.

DEATH: Hannah Murphy nee Healy in her 81st year and on her 60th Wedding Anniversary,  passed away on 13th February 2013 at her residence surrounded by her  family. She is sadly missed by her husband Liamy, sons Pat, Martin, Joe, Kieran, Frankie, T.J., Adrian, Damien and Paul, daughters Bridget, Margaret, Geraldine & Theresa, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Mary Horgan in Knockanure, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. Requiem Mass for Hannah Murphy was celebrated on Friday 15th at 12 noon in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Athea, burial after in Holy Cross Cemetery.

DEATH took place on February 11 2013 of Sr. Austin Brosnan late of Presentation Convent Listowel and Inchabee, Farranfore and Fatima Home, Tralee.  pre-deceased by her brothers, Monsignor. John, Brother Carthage, Jerry and his wife Mary, Patsy and Dick and nephew Tom; deeply regretted by her loving Presentation Community, her niece Eileen, nephews Paddy, Ned, John, and Jeremiah, grandnieces, grandnephews. KERRYMAN Snippet; July 6 1935, Kerry County Council congratulated bishop elect of Ross Right Rev Patrick Casey DD. Canon Casey was PP of Newmarket and he was nephew of the famous Fr Casey of Abbeyfeale.

August 3rd 1935 a mad cow belonging to Tom Dillon of Knockanassig shot by guard as she was a danger to people at the Spa in Listowel.

WALK:  ‘The Clare Pilgrim Way’ has been marking out a pilgrim route linking ancient monastic sites, holy places and cultural centres around the County and a small section of South Galway.  The next walk will be from Molougha to Kilfenora, from 1- 5 of April 2013 (Easter week – Mon to Fri).
