DRAMA: Athea Drama Group put on a splendid performance of Cobweb’s Glory recently at the Con Colbert Memorial Hall, the group have produced many plays since 1992; new to the cast was local man Tady Finucane who played the part of Stephen Sweeney, others in the cast which are well known to us include Mike Ahern, Anne Marie Nash, Hanna Mai Collins, Tom Collins, Theresa O Halloran, Declan O Carroll, Tara Finucane played for the arrival of the cup.

Died on March 5th 1948 John Stack who represented North Kerry as M.P. from 1885 to`92, a Draper of Listowel, he died at his brother in laws Tom Gibson in Tralee. John Stack donated £1,000 to the Presentation Convent Schools.
DEATH took place on February 17th `08 of Peg Leahy, nee Relihan aged 98 years of The Demesne, Carrigeen, Brosna. Peg was married to Eddie Leahy and they had four children, Willie, Bernie, Kay and Bridie, Peg Leahy was the last surviving of 10 Relihan children who were born at Knockadirrenn, Duagh. Following Requiem Mass in St Carthage’s Church Brosna on Tuesday 19th February Peg Leahy was laid to rest in the local cemetery.
