HALLOWEEN Party at Knockanure Community Centre on 31st October 2014 from 7-9 pm. Spooky magic Show, ghoulish games and slimy horrors. All children and parents welcomed, discount per family.

CLOTHES: Moyvane Ladies Football: Unwanted Clothes Collection takes place Friday 31st October at the Community Centre, Moyvane before 11am.  Bags may be dropped off on Thursday 30th between 6-8pm

WEDDINGS: Linda Curtin from Moyvane and Adrian Grandison of Sligo were married at Killarney Cathedral on 11th October 2014 by Fr Jim Lenihan. Best man was John Duignan and groomsmen were Charles Grandison and Fergal  Dwyer. Bridesmaids Evelyn Curtin, Lorna Stancey and Eimer Kenny. Linda is daughter of John and Eileen Curtin of Moyvane.

Congratulations to Caroline McEnery of Brosna and Michael McElligott son of Tom and Mary of Kilmorna were married recently. Best man was Johnny McElligott and groomsmen were Fintan Leahy, Denis Griffin and Mike Murphy. Bridesmaids, Alison McEnery, Michelle Murphy, Annamarie Sellerfield and Hannah Morrissey.

Best Wishes to Norma Brouder of Templeathea (daughter of Noreen and Gene) who recently married  John Paul O’Riordan (son of Joan and Willie) of Dirreen. The bridesmaids were Aoife Brouder, Grainne Brouder and Elaine Collins. The best men were Conor Brouder, Francis O’Riordan and Timmy Sheehy. Fr. Michael Cussen conducted the ceremony in Athea Church.

DONNCHA: An evening with Donncha O’Dulaing at Knockfierna Rambling House on Friday, October 31st at 7.30pm,  an evening of music, song and storytelling . All are welcome.

DEATH has occurred of Ita Vaughan (née O’Meara) of Templeathea, Athea on 21st October 2014. Survived by her husband Joe Joe, son Joseph, daughters Jenny & Loraine, brother Mike, sisters Peg & Rose, sons-in-law Joe Triggs & Jamie O’Rourke, grandchildren Iarlaith, Dan & Tiernan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, Ita was Daughter of the late Kit & Danny Meara of Templeathea. Requiem Mass for Ita Vaughan was celebrated by Fr Kennedy assisted by Canon Kelly at Athea Church on 23rd October 2014. Joe Foley played sacred music and Marlene Enright sang the hymns. Fr. Kennedy remarked the many coincidences in names and events in his family and the Vaughan family, he lost his mother also at a young age.
Following Mass Ita Vaughan was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Athea, surrounded by family, friends and neighbours.

FRANK DUFF: The Servant of God Frank Duff.  Holy Mass will be celebrated to promote his cause in the Church of the Resurrection, Killarney on Thursday 6th November, 2014.  Proceeded by the Rosary at 7.10pm.  Organised by the Legion of Mary.

I.C.A.: Next Meeting of Guild is on Tuesday 28th October at 7.30pm.  INDULGENCES: Class at 8.30pm. Indulgences for all the Holy Souls: 1. From 12 o’clock noon on 1st Nov. until midnight on 2nd November, all who have confessed, received Holy Communion, and prayed for the Pope’s intentions (one Our Father and Hail Mary or any other prayer of one’s choice) can gain one plenary indulgence by visiting a church or oratory, and there reciting one Our Father and the Apostles’ Creed.  This indulgence is applicable only to the souls of the departed.  Confessions may be made at any time within the week preceding or the week following 1st November.  Holy Communion may be received on any day from the 1st November to the 8th November.

2. The Faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may gain a plenary indulgence applicable only to the Holy Souls on the usual conditions once per day from the 1st to 8th November.  The conditions mentioned above apply also for this.
