DEATH has occurred of Ita Vaughan (née O’Meara) of Templeathea, Athea on 21st October 2014. Survived by her husband Joe Joe, son Joseph, daughters Jenny & Loraine, brother Mike, sisters Peg & Rose, sons-in-law Joe Triggs & Jamie O’Rourke, grandchildren Iarlaith, Dan & Tiernan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, Ita was Daughter of the late Kit & Danny Meara of Templeathea. Requiem Mass for Ita Vaughan was celebrated by Fr Kennedy assisted by Canon Kelly at Athea Church on 23rd October 2014. Joe Foley played sacred music and Marlene Enright sang the hymns. Fr. Kennedy remarked the many coincidences in names and events in his family and the Vaughan family, he lost his mother also at a young age.
Following Mass Ita Vaughan was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Athea, surrounded by family, friends and neighbours.

From 12 o’clock noon on 1st Nov. until midnight on 2nd November, all who have confessed, received Holy Communion, and prayed for the Pope’s intentions (one Our Father and Hail Mary or any other prayer of one’s choice) can gain one plenary indulgence by visiting a church or oratory, and there reciting one Our Father and the Apostles’ Creed. This indulgence is applicable only to the souls of the departed. Confessions may be made at any time within the week preceding or the week following 1st November. Holy Communion may be received on any day from the 1st November to the 8th November.
2. The Faithful who visit a cemetery and pray for the dead may gain a plenary indulgence applicable only to the Holy Souls on the usual conditions once per day from the 1st to 8th November. The conditions mentioned above apply also for this.
