The Art Club who meet every Friday at the Family Centre will also hold a Sale and Exhibition of their work on the same night.

TRAIL: On the Great Southern Trail website 100 photos of the Trail can be viewed at www.southerntrail.net GST has become a member of the European Greenways Association www.egwa-awvv.org whose website will introduce you to numerous other trails. Annual dog walk in aid of the Carers Association begins at Abbeyfeale Station House on the GST on Easter Monday April 5th at 2pm.

BIRTHDAYS: James Duggan of Moyvane celebrated his 21st birthday and Padraig Keane of Knockanure celebrated his 18th birthday recently.

CONGRATULATIONS to Moyvane born trainer Tommy Stack and his son who sent four horses to the Curragh about two weeks ago and all became winners, Pollen won the feature race.

MARRIAGE has taken place of Lorraine Vaughan, daughter of Ita and Joe of Templeathea to Joe Triggs of Middleton, at Athea Church, Fr Cussen officiated. Bridesmaids were Jenny and Marlene Enright, Sheena Enright and Maedbh Dalton. The best men were Michael Smithwick, Stephen Paul, Liam Riordan and Joe Vaughan Jnr. The flower girls were Grace Terreell, Emma Lynch, Kate Reidy and Emma Vaughan. The pageboy was Harry Reidy and the ushers were Robert Terell and Mark Lynch.

TEETH: A local woman, whose two year old false teeth were in danger of falling out of her mouth, was asked by a dentist for E400 to tighten them, no guarantee in some professions. If she went to a technician a small fee would sort her out.

HSE have a mountain of anti viral medicine and masks which are surplus to the Swine Flu scare, will these expensive materials go out of date like the iodine tablets which were posted to all of us some years ago. Third world countries may benefit from our surplus if the will is there.

DEATH took place at Sluicequarter, Kilmorna on March 24th 2010 of Hannah Moloney nee Meade. Hannah was predeceased by her husband John Joe and brother Joe Meade and is survived by her sons Brendan, John and Tom, daughters Mary and Joan, sisters Bridie Meade and Sr. Mercedes Meade. Requiem Mass celebrated in St. Bridget’s Church, Duagh on Friday March 26th by Fr Pat Moore assisted by Fr Paul Dillon, Fr Liam Merrigan and Fr Patrick Bowen P.P. Athea. O’Connor Family played the music at mass. Hannah Moloney was laid to rest beside her husband John Joe Moloney at Spring mount Cemetery Duagh immediately after mass on a lovely spring day surrounded by her family and friends. Hannah was daughter of Jackie Meade of Kilmorna and Catherine Fitzmaurice of Moyvane and was baptised in Duagh Church on 18th November 1920. John Joe Moloney died in 2007.

MASS for the deceased members of Kerry No. 1 Brigade Old I.R.A. and Cumann Na mBan will be held in The Bon Secours Hospital Chapel on Easter Monday at 9.30am.
