Bolder. Dr. Samantha Ronan, senior case worker for Elder Abuse
with the HSE, will talk on the sensitive issue of Elder Abuse.

on apple trees and the whitethorn is starting to flower.
DEBT: Old Testament law provided for a “Year of Jubilee every

sin was abolished by the High Priest in the Temple, a trumpet
was blown and money debts of money were forgiven.
LOYOLA was established as a University in 1912. First Dean of
Loyola in New Orleans was Fr Patrick A Ryan an uncle of Fr.
Michael Kennelly, the Kennelly connection with New Orleans go
back to c 1860 with Fr William Kennelly SJ of Kilbaha who was
associated with other North Kerry neighbours Fr John O Shanahan,
Cardinal Stritch and Fr Francis Kirby. Hurricane Katrina damage
cost $6million.
Loyola’s University President the Rev. Michael F. Kennelly, S.J.
told students that the “The Board of Directors of Loyola
University has authorized him to announce its decision to
discontinue intercollegiate athletics at the end of 1972
semester and to concentrate, instead, on a broad-based program
of intra-university athletics to benefit more students. The
reasons for the board’s decision are educational and financial.
Intercollegiate sports were reinstated in 1991. Fr M F Kennelly
died Jan. 2011 aged 96 years; the University now educates 5,000
students each year.

DEATH has occurred of Margaret Beslin, nee Kennelly of
Palmerstown, Dublin on 26th April 2012. Margaret was born at
Moyvane South 70 years ago to Jerry Kennelly and Mary Shanahan.
Margaret spent her youth with her aunt Margaret Kennelly in
Knockanure. She is survived by her husband Thomas Vincent
Breslin and children, Angela, Edel, Vincent, John, Patrick and
Catherine, siblings, Kathleen, Oliver and Tom and Aunt Margaret.
Brothers Pat and Dan predeceased Margaret Breslin. Following
Requiem Mass at St. Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown on Monday
30th April Margaret Breslin was laid to rest in Esker Cemetery,
Lucan.
