RACING in Listowel on June 5th, 6th and 7th.

CONCERT: In aid of North Kerry Day Care Centre. Will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Listowel on Sunday 20th of June at 8pm. Featuring Gavin Ring, Baritone, Dean Power, Tenor, Nicola Mulligan, Soprano, Director Adrian O’Carroll with the Kerry Chamber Orchestra.

GREEN Flags; Congratulations to Knockanure Scoil Chorp Chriost N.S. who along with 12 other national school were given Green Flags at Thomond Park on May 24th `10.

CONGRATULATIONS to Kerry Ann Finucane of Moyvane / Knockanure who came first in the Community Games Cycling on Grass, Girls U-14,  the event was held recently in Tralee.

CONGRATULATIONS  to Miriam Langan, who celebrated her 21st birthday recently she is daughter of Teresa Kennelly and Eddie of Glasha, Athea.

HEALTH: The Tralee Aware group offer support for those who are sufferers of depression, and for their families and friends every Tuesday at 8pm in the Sacristy rooms at the rear of St. John’s Church,  Contact 066 7194713.    There is a Kerry relatives support group set up at the Dromhall Hotel, Killarney on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 8pm for relatives & friends of people experiencing depressive illnesses or mood disorder, next meeting is on June 2nd.

Migraine Association of Ireland will hold a self-help group in Tralee. The first meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 10th and will continue each Thursday for six weeks at the Carlton Hotel. Hospice Sunflower Day will take place on Friday & Saturday, June 11th & 12th.

OCD Support Group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month in a room at the Meadowlands Hotel from 8pm – 9.30pm,  Next meeting Thursday, June 3rd.

HSE or some regulator has a new rule, visitors must sigh in at nursing homes with date, time of entry, leaving and who visited.

AMENITIES: We have many amenities in the locality, like the Moyvane Village woodland walk, Dawn Chorus, Tralee Town park was deserted on Sunday last, the museum in the Ash Memorial Hall was inviting children in free while adults were charged only E5 and we have Ballybunion the jewel of the Kingdom when the weather is fine.

BANK: I am told that a bank took possession of builder’s houses and sold them for the price of a car, it is claimed the builder could sell the houses for E100,000 but the banks would not loan the money. Some regulator should check who were the beneficiaries of the transactions.

FUNDRAISING event will take  place on Friday 4th June at Anglers Rest Bar, Finuge at 9.00pm,  in aid of Medical Equipment for Livingstone General Hospital Zambia, it is being organised by Anne Marie Hayes a Medical Student from Gortnaminsh, Listowel.

CORPUS Christi Procession was held in Listowel on Sunday last it is nice to see people publicly expressing their beliefs in a pleasant manner. John Lynch was there to record the event.

A Polish Mass was celebrated in Tralee on Sunday afternoon; all were in their seats in good time. They had a youthful choir and several altar servers, it was noticeable the number of young men and women and children attending.

Great to see the improvement in all the local graveyards, we all remember when they were wild looking places.

COLLECTION: 50th International Eucharistic Congress takes place in Dublin in 2012. The first was held in France in 1881, one was held in Dublin in 1932 and most recent in Quebec Canada in 2008. The Irish Episcopal Conference has agreed to the holding of a special collection in every Church in Ireland on Corpus Christi June 5th/6th.

OFFERING Envelopes are now being distributed, every little helps to promote the Church and acknowledge its contribution in the past and preserve its ability to service the needs of future generations.

CHILDREN: Last Sunday May 30th  over 100 Safeguarding Children Parish Representatives from the 53 parishes attended a ceremony in the Malton Hotel, Killarney to launch the new ‘Diocese of Kerry Safeguarding Children Standards and Guidance Document’
