Easter Greeting; Best Wishes for an enjoyable and Blessed break and Celebration of our Faith.

Easter Message: Christ is Risen and present to us all.…..May Easter Sunday morning remind us that Christ is risen, Christ is alive, and He is present in our lives through the Holy Spirit. The mystery of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator and Lord of us all. This Holy Week we remember the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we worship him as our Saviour and our Hope. Every Easter blessing on all the people of all our parishes, and on our loved ones wherever they are in the world this Easter. Every blessing too on all for whom this is their first Easter in Ireland.

CONGRATULATIONS to latest winner of “Split the Bucket Fundraiser ” Maria O’Carroll who won 231 euro. The winning envelope was sold at Style Post Hair Salon Moyvane, thanks to the Parents Association for all the work.

CONGRATULATIONS to Trish Rogan from Lissaniska, Kilmorna who won the Knockanure GAA Jackpot €8,200 on Tuesday night March 26th: Winning numbers were 3, 9, 15 and 19. Also, a reminder that the Club Yearly Membership of €20 is now due.

GAA: Moyvane U13’s Green team took on Ballymac recently, they had a brilliant game. Moyvane 3-12- Ballymac 2-8.

DAWN mass will take place on Easter Sunday morning at 6am at Holy Cross Graveyard, Athea, weather permitting. The advice is to wrap up well, and bring a torch.

DEATH has occurred of Catherine Dalton (née McMahon), Rahavanig, Ballybunion and late of Gortaglanna, Kilmorna, on March 28th, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, brother Tom and her parents Danny and Nora. Loving mother of Michael, Maggie, Nora and Dan, also survived by her brothers Dan and Jim, sisters Nora, Mary and Eileen, sons-in-law Ollie and Ciarán, Dan’s partner Tanya, grandchildren Paddy, Caitlín, Caoimhe, Olivia and Aoife, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Requiem Mass for Catherine celebrated at St. John’s Church, Ballybunion, on Monday morning April 1st at 10.45 am, followed by burial afterwards in Killehenny Cemetery, Ballybunion.

DEATH on 26th March 2024 of Richard (Richie) Shanahan, Lower Athea, and formerly of Kilbaha, Moyvane. Predeceased by his son Richard and sister Kathleen (Sheahan). Survived by his wife Mary, daughters Mary (Esson), Úna (Meehan) and Kathleen (Mansfield), sons John, Mike, Thomas, Denis and Jerry, sister Peggy Kinlough (Wexford), brother Jerry (Kilbaha, Moyvane), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons in law, daughters in law, sister in law, and extended family. Requiem Mass for Richie celebrated at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Athea, on Monday, 1st April 2024. Interred afterwards in Holycross Cemetery, Athea.

DEATH has taken place of Bridie Scanlon (née Sheehan), Ballygrennan, Listowel, on March 22nd, 2024. Wife of the late Pat and mother of the late Padraig. Bridie will be sadly missed by her sister Peggy, sisters-in-law Eileen and Joan, nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family.

Requiem Mass for Bridie being celebrated at Listowel Church on Wednesday, followed by burial afterwards in St. John Paul II Cemetery, Ballybunion Road, Listowel.

BADMINTON Division 2 & 4 Kerry Mixed Championships in association with CPC.ie took place recently, this competition marked the end of the county championships in Kerry for the 2023/2024 season. Division 4, Winner – Eileen McCarthy (Moyvane) & Niall Hanlon (Moyvane), and Runner Up – Mary Mulcahy (Moyvane) & Kevin Thanasegaran (Tralee).

COFFEE MORNING; Fran Leahy originally from New St., Abbeyfeale and who has gone out to help in the schools that Fr. Tim Galvin set up, is returning again in May for a 6 month term. She will be covering all her expenses herself but her friends are planning to hold a coffee morning on Saturday, April 13 from 11am – 2pm in St. Ita’s Day Care Centre to raise funds for the running of the schools.
