CONGRATULATIONS to the new Mayor
of Kerry Pat Leahy, who was born at Trien Knockanure, he is a
local active councillor for nearly 20 years. 1972 was the last
time a Labour man was elected Chairman of the Council, 1949 was
the last time a Moyvane man was elected to Chair the Council. M
J Nolan of Moyvane was the first Vice chairman of Kerry County
Council. Pats wife Mary and daughters Nora, Johanna, Trisha, and
Mary B. no doubt contributed to his success.

A special Celebration of Mass will take place on next Thursday
night 8th July at 8.00pm at the Community Centre, Knockanure to
Celebrate this very Special Occasion. Everybody from the

GABRIEL Fitzmaurice recently launched a 125 page book of poems
written by the senior classes at Ballyhahill National School,
Gabriel also wrote the foreword of the book.

MARRIAGE took place recently at Asdee Church Aishling Galvin of
Tullahinell and Eamonn Stack of Carrueragh, Fr Joseph Tarrant a
cousin of the groom officiated, Fr Bernard Healy assisted. Best

DEATH took place on June 28th 2010 of Elizabeth (Bess) Horgan
nee O Connor of Kilmorna, her husband Jack and son James,
Brothers Davy, Fr. Morgan and Fr. John, sisters Sr. Brigid and
Sr. Mary Angela predeceased Bess. She is survived by sons Colm,
Morgan, Pa, Michael and Pius, daughters Angela and Delia.
Following Requiem Mass in Duagh Church on Wednesday June 30th ,
Bess Horgan was laid to rest at St Michael’s Churchyard,
Listowel.
DEATH has taken place of Liam Cronin of Templegreen, Newcastle
West. Following Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate
Conception Glin on June 12th 2010 Liam Cronin was laid to rest
at Kinnard Cemetery. Liam was born at Ballyguiltenane, his
father came from Knockanure Village.
