DEATH of Daniel Houlihan, Clounprohus, Moyvane, on September 24th, 2023. Predeceased by his grandparents Johnny and Bridget Houlihan. Daniel is survived by, his parents Aidan and Theresa, sisters Emma and Rebecca, grandparents Dan and Mary Keane, uncles Donie, Johnny, Donal and Eddie, aunts Catriona, Breda and Marion, granduncles, grandaunts, cousins, extended family, and neighbours. Requiem Mass for Daniel was celebrated at Ballydonoghue Church on Saturday at 11.00 a.m, followed by burial afterwards in Gale Cemetery.
Joe (The Hammer) O’Brien
DEATH of Joe (The Hammer) O’Brien of Sharwood Estate, Newcastle West, on 27th September 2023 at Milford Care Centre. Husband of the late Mary. Survived by his son Alan, daughters Amanda and Paula, sons-in-law Adrian and Neilus, grandchildren Michael, Ryan and Eoin, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, and nieces. Requiem Mass for Joe was celebrated at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West, on Saturday, 30th September, burial afterwards in Ardagh Cemetery. Joe went to school in Knockanure for a while and loved to visit the community centre and recall school days. He loved his football team West ham, that’s where Joe got his nickname Joe hammer.
