CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION 2024: takes place in Listowel on Saturday evening, June 1st at 7.00 p.m. immediately after the Vigil Mass of the Feast of Corpus Christi.

SYMPATHY: At a recent Board of Management Meeting of Scoil Chorp Chriost a vote of sympathy was passed To The Kennelly Families on the death of Gerard Kennelly Gortdromagowna, Knockanure.

DEATH on May 27th, 2024 of Denis Mulvihill, Lower Aughrim, Moyvane, on May 27th, 2024, survived by his cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends. Requiem Mass for Denis being celebrated in Moyvane Church on Thursday, followed by burial afterwards in Murhur Cemetery, Moyvane.

DEATH of Gerard Kennelly, Gortdromagowna, Knockanure, on May 27th, 2024. Gerard will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his mother Sheila, father Jerry and his partner Anne, daughter Miya, brothers Thomas and John, sisters Mairead and Julie, uncles Paddy and Tom, aunts Marguerite, Kathleen and Joan, brothers-in-law Ger and Shane, sister-in-law Gina, nephews, nieces, extended family. Funeral arrived at Corpus Christi Church, Knockanure, on Friday morning for the Requiem Mass, followed by burial of Gerard afterwards in Ahavoher Cemetery, Moyvane.

BOOK: The heroine of the O’Brien Press-published ‘The Weather Girls’ is 12-year-old Grace Devine, the story was inspired by the weather forecast from Maureen Sweeney née Flavin’s who was born at Knockanure and was a post-office clerk at Blacksod Post Office, County Mayo, she took regular weather readings, her forecast in the early hours of June 3, 1944, delayed the D-Day landings.

FEAST: On May 31, we celebrate the Feast of the Visitation. Following the angel’s annunciation, Mary immediately runs to her much older cousin Elizabeth to tell her the news.
