JOBS: The proposed LNG Gas storage plant on the Tarbert/ Ballylongford land bank will bring much needed jobs to the district, planning must begin immediately to help present employers to retain their skilled staff and young farmers will have to resist short term gains.
HIGH Speed internet into every home with optical fibre has become too costly and most people are without high speed internet, but a new cheap plastic fibre cable which is safer for homes may help boost the number on broadband rapidly. Many of our senior citizens could benefit from broadband as they could view and discuss the thousands of old pictures now available on photo album sites.

Patchogue, New York, he was son of John Cronin of Boherbee, Tralee, also returning was Fr J. J. Enright who gave a lecture on Ballylongford, he toured Africa and the Holy Land before returning to California; Death took place at age 36years Johanna Day of Burnham, her husband was coachman to Lord Ventry, also died in Listowel Miss Goggin and Master Cleary son of Listowel Bank Manager; A long article on the activities of a rich catholic woman called Mrs Tom Ryan, she was generous when her husband was earning $20 as a clerk, now she distributes £1 millon per year. She built a hospital at Suffern, when she saw the inadequacy of medical facilities available following a nearby rail crash, she bought clothes for young needy girls, provided for TB patients who were sent to the Arizona Desert, she knits for children and is never idle. Mrs Ryan endowed four rooms at St Vincent’s Hospital for sick telephone operators, for nearly 25 years her sons were attending Georgetown University, she paid for an $18,000 gymnasium for the college. REQUIEM Mass for the late Michael and Denis Hanrahan was concelebrated at the Church of the Assumption Moyvane on Wednesday April 2nd `08 by their cousin Fr Horgan assisted by Bishop Murphy, Fr Lucid, Canon Linnane, Canon Fleming, Fr Joe and Fr Francis Nolan, Fr O Leary, Fr Crean Lynch, Fr Declan O Connor, Fr Tom McMahon, Fr D. Mahony, Fr Harrington, Fr Jim O Hanlon, Fr John O Connor, Fr Lawlor, Fr Sean Sheehy, Fr Philip O Connell, Fr Martin Madigan, Fr McNamara, Fr Pat Ahern and Fr Michael Buckley, hymns were sung by Margaret Woulfe and musicians played reflective tunes while people were expressing sympathy to the family, Michaels siblings are John, Patrick and Teresa and Kayrena , Marian Aine, and Shane are sisters and brother to Denis. After mass Shane Hanrahan and John Hanrahan recalled happier incidents and the caring attitude of their beloved Michael and Denis.
Following mass father and son Michael and Denis Hanrahan of the Hill Moyvane were laid to rest in Murhur Churchyard; only 12 year ago Michael’s wife Anne and mother of Denis was tearfully laid to rest in the same grave.
Michael Hanrahan began writing the Moyvane Knockanure Notes for the Kerryman at the end of 1981, among the item covered in the 27th Nov 1981 edition of the Kerryman was Site plans for RHO houses; Josephine McEnery first Irishwoman to get International Driving Licence; Buffet Dance at Monty’s and death of Bessie O Callaghan. December 4th 1981notes included; ICA Party; Died Martin O Connor brother Mrs William Cunningham; Noel Stack came 4th in Munster Championship; Mrs Agnes Mulvihill secretary of PTAA seeks new members; Sympathy from the Labour party to the Roche and Mulvihill Families.

DEATH has taken place of Margaret Ahern of Moher Cross, Moyvane, Aggie is survived by her husband Sean Ahern and children Pat Joe, Sean, Jim, Eamon, Joe, Gerard, Anthony, Marie, Elsie, Noreen, Cathleen, and Betty, following Requiem Mass in Moyvane Church on Saturday April 5th `08 Margaret Ahern nee Dillon was laid to rest at Ahavoher Graveyard, Margaret had 32 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Death took place recently in Leeds of Bill Mangan son of Tom Mangan of Leitrim Middle, Moyvane and Katie Bunce of Lenamore. Willie was predeceased by his wife and Brothers John, Sony and Mike and is survived by his children and sisters Mary, Martha and Winifred. Tom came originally from Clare and worked at Moyvane creamery for many years.

ADORATION: In Moyvane on Sundays 4 to 5pm, Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm, Knockanure 10am to 6pm on Tuesdays and Abbeyfeale Monday to Friday 6pm to 8pm and special Adoration for Vocations will take place in Abbeyfeale on Saturday 12th April after the 11am Mass and continues till Midnight. If you want to donate towards the Parish in Africa which was developed by the late Fr Neville an opportunity is available this Sunday at Abbeyfeale Church.
