QUIZ: Congratulations to the U-11 quiz team from Scoil Chorp Chriost who won the regional final of the Credit Union quiz on Friday night January 29th 2010 at the Presentation Convent School. The team members were Maedbh McEvoy, Rachel Rowlands Jerry Clancy and Darren Doody who was Captain. The team will now go forward to the County Final which will be held on March 7th at a venue to be decided. This was a great achievement for our local school and we wish them the best in the next round of the quiz. SQUIRRELS: The tax payer had to pay for a 32 page educational package on Red Squirrels which as sent to all primary and secondary schools last year, also 273 traps for grey squirrels were given to forest owners on loan and gun clubs received sponsorship to kill 1400 grey squirrels.
