BLOOD Donor Clinic, Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th May from 6pm. to 9pm. in the Listowel Arms Hotel. 3,000 units of blood are required every week. 1,000 people receive blood or a blood product every week. 1:4 of our population require blood at some point in their life. 3% only of our population give blood.

GREAT night at St John’s on last Friday 6th,  with 30 musicians, singers and dancers entertaining us for nearly four hours, proceeds in aid of Chernobyl Children’s Fund, performers include, Eibhlin Broderick, Karen Trench, Emily Wren, Saoirse O Connor, Michael O Shea, Kate Murphy, Roisin Buckley, Aoife Trench and Friends, Aaron and Sean Slemon, Laura Walsh, Kianan O Doherty, Rud Easca, Ballydonoghue Musicians, Timmy Flaherty, Dean Griffin, Niamh Healy and Friends, John Neville and Friends,  Bryan Murphy a storyteller and local woman Maureen was goaded by the audience to dance a few steps she learned at Knockanure School many Moons ago.

WINNER: Kieran Flavin from the Chernobyl Children’s fund presented the winning hamper, At St John’s on Friday night last to Sandra Behan of Tarbert, the prize was kindly sponsored by Supervalu Listowel.

Civic Guards in Tarbert and Newtownsandes reduced by one in each station 23rd Nov. 1923; 11th June 1914 Molly Mahony of Newtownsandes sent congratulations from ship at sea, full list of names included.

DEATH has taken place in the U.S.A. recently of Eddie Moloney a native of Leitrim Middle, Moyvane. He is survived by his wife Christine Murphy and six children, his sisters Joan and Margaret, Eddie was predeceased by his elder brother Michael Moloney on January 15th 2011. Eddie was son of Jim Moloney and Mary Mulvihill and was born 88 years ago.

PADRE  Pio: Fr. Eremlindo De Capus Personal assistant of Saint Padre Pio will concelebrate Mass in St. Mary’s Church Listowel on Tuesday 31st May at 8.00pm. Fr. Eremelindo will bring with him one of Saint Padre Pio’s stigmata mittens, and will also give individual blessings following the Mass.
