FUTSAL started again in Moyvane community Centre on Thurs 4th Oct. Futsal is a indoor soccer game which increases skill and co-ordination played by boys and girls alike.

ST. JOHN’S Tralee Choirs have been invited by Red Hurley to perform with him when he appears at Siamsa Tire Theatre on Saturday 13th October next. They will also perform some pieces from their own repertoire on the night.
FILM Festival; Local Director Gerard Barrett was due to have a Opening Gala of Pilgrim Hill at Siamsa on Tuesday 9th. Gerard gave an interview to Radio Kerry on Monday morning last promoting local film production. KERRY Ladies got good local support last Sunday at Croke Park. It is at great honour to reach the All Ireland Final, there is hope for better things next year as they build on the present foundation.
MARATHON: The 2012 Limerick Women’s Mini Marathon takes place at midday on Sunday 14th October. It is 8km long and starts and finishes on the grounds of the University of Limerick. Information on the event at www.limerickminimarathon.com.

TABLETS: The HSE are asking people to hand in unused medicines to pharmacies, last year 4.6 tons were collected, why were the tablets prescribed in the first place, costing probably millions to the taxpayer.
DEATH took place on 29th September 2012 of Dolly Bridget Dillane, Doon House, Tralee, formerly the Hill, Moyvane. at Riverside Nursing Home. Dolly waspredeceased by her husband Thomas and is survived by her son Ian and sister Kathleen O Connor of Knockanure and sister-in –law Kathleen Stack of Moyvane. Requiem Mass for Dolly Dillane was celebrated at St Brendan’s Church, Tralee on Tuesday October 2nd, Interment afterwards in Old Rath Cemetery Tralee. Dolly was predeceased by siblings, Margaret, Willie in 2000, Mai in 2004,Tim in 2006. Her father Edward Stack died about 55 yrs ago and is buried at Murhur Churchyard with his wife Bridie O Hanlon who died c1956.
DEATH took place of Edward (Eddie) Langford of Bansha, Killorglin on October 2, 2012. Eddie was predeceased by his wife Mary, nee Clifford and is survived by his son Richard, daughters Maura Moran Knockanure, Helen and Claire, sister Kathleen, brother John. Requiem Mass for Eddie Langford was celebrated at St James’s Church, Killorglin on 4th October 2012. Eddie Langford was laid to rest afterwards in nearby Dromavalla Cemetery, beside his wife Mary who died on 9th November 2010. Clergy at the Mass included, Fr. Liam O’Brien, Killorglin, Fr. Pat O’Donnell, Milltown, Archbishop Dermot Clifford, Fr. John Clifford O.P. Fr. Denis McGillycuddy and
Fr. Gene McGillycuddy.
DEATH took place on 4th October 2012 of Pat Stanley, Fleanmore, Ballyhahill. Pat is survived by his wife Ann, brothers Canon Mortimer and Michael and sister Mary. Requiem Mass for Pat Stanley was celebrated in the Immaculate Conception, Glin on Saturday 6th October 2012. Pat Stanley was laid to rest in Kilfergus Cemetery, Glin beside his mother Margaret Daly of Duagh who died in 1966, his father Joe Stanley died 1972, sister Eza died in 2006. His brother Tom died in 2004.
Death took place on 22nd September of Timothy McElligott, late of The Bridge Road, Listowel. Survived by his wife Anne and son Gerard, he was predeceased by his first wife Cissie Kennelly. Following Requiem Mass in Listowel Church Timothy McElligott was laid to rest in St Michael’s Churchyard, Listowel.

SHANID Historical Society next lecture will be held on 15th October 2012 and is titled ‘Business and life in Shanagolden Village – reminisce and record’. It will be led by Chairman Joe Ryan, with contributions from Pattie Garvey, Tom Madigan, Hon. Treasurer and other local people. TRADE: On the 13th September, MEPs voted to reject the European Commission’s proposal to impose a unilateral deadline of 2014 on African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries (ACP) to sign up to unfair trade agreements, and instead proposed extending the deadline to 2016.
