SCHOOL: The annual Credit Union Quiz Competition for schools was held in the Presentation Secondary School in Listowel on Friday last 27 of January 2023. Both the Senior and Junior teams did very well. Special mention to the Under 11 team who placed 2nd. Well Done to Jack Lyons, Simon Buckley, James Lynch & Liam Stack.

St Bridget’s Crosses, the pupils are currently making the crosses which will be donated by the school for the raising of funds for Palliative Care.

PARISH: Pastoral Council meets 7th Feb. at 7.30pm in Moyvane Church Sacristy. Confessions- Moyvane Saturday 6.45pm to 7.15pm; Eucharistic Adoration every Tues. after 10.00am Mass to 11.30am. Synod Update, 200 representatives from the Churches of Europe are gathering in Prague from the 5th to the 12th of February for the European Continental Assembly in preparation for this Autumn’s Synod in Rome. We pray that the Holy Spirit may bless and direct the work. DEATH of Patrick O’Connor, Ashgrove, Listowel and late of Clounprohus, Moyvane on January 27th, 2023, son of the late Daniel and Bridget. Patrick is survived by his sisters Kitty and Ann, uncle Timmy, brother-in-law Rodger, nephew Colm, and extended family. Following Requiem Mass in Moyvane Church Patrick was laid to rest at Murhur Graveyard.

DEATH of Tim Lynch, Kilgarvan, Ballylongford, Listowel, (predeceased by his brothers Paddy and Liam), died on January 29th 2023. Survived by his wife Anne, his children John, Caitríona, Patrick and Joanne, his sons and daughters-in -law Chris, Deirdre, Breda and Paul, his grandchildren Sarah, Sinéad, Caoimhe, Sophia, Eoghan, Emma, Rachel, Éabha, Brianna, Dylan, Daragh and Aidan, his brother John and sister Marie in Moyvane.

SYMPATHY: At a recent Board of Management the following votes of sympathy was passed to Mary & Tony Buckley Keylod on the death of Mary’s sister Patsy Meehan Abbeyfeale.

SENIOR BADMINTON; Moyvane Ladies, Division 3 team who won the County League Final against Tralee on Wednesday night, January 25. The competition was played in Tralee Sports Complex. The team was Francine Collins, Denise Collins, Bridget McCarthy, Jeanelle Griffin & Carmel Hudson. Moyvane Division 4 Men’s team reached the County League Final. The team Liam O’Connor, John Newman, Niall O’Hanlon and Padraig Hanrahan. The singles championship took place in the Tralee sports complex on Friday January 27 for division 5, 3, & 1. Bridget McCarthy won the ladies division 3 singles. Martin Stack won the Men’s division 5 singles and Fiona Buckley won the ladies Division 5 singles.
