DEATH of Pat Given of Cahirdown, Listowel, on 30th April 2024, husband of the late Lisha (December 2023), father of Séamus, Peter and John, brother of the late Mena Given and Anne Gavin, grandfather of the late Odhran. Missed by his family, his grandchildren Grace, Maeve, Hugo, Eva, Oscar, Jack and Cora, daughters-in-law Ann, Michelle and Susan, sisters Mary McCabe, Betty Ward, Sr. Kathleen and Sr. Bride, sister-in-law Frances, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

DEATH of Katrina Cotter (nee Crowley) Fennells Bay, Crosshaven, / Castleisland, On April 22nd 2024, beloved wife of Dave and mother of Patrick, Liam and David. Daughter of the late Pat and Kitty Crowley and sister of the late Maurice Pascal. Survived by, sisters Eilish, Breda, Maura and Noreen, brothers Padraig and Denis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, her special niece Katie and nephews. Requiem Mass for Katrina was celebrated on Wednesday (24th April) at St. Brigid’s Church, Crosshaven, funeral afterwards to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Crosshaven. Sympathy to Breda and Mike Brosnan and the Crowley families.

DEATH of Seán Quinlan PC, Beenduff, Ballyduff, on 27th April 2024. Predeceased by his parents Will and Molly (nee Wynne), brother Mike Joe, sisters Catherine and Betty and his uncle Jimmy.

Survived by his wife Anne (nee Goggin), dear father of William and Patrick, daughters-in-law Sheila and Tara, his grandchildren Darragh, Shawna, Shannon and Holly, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousin Margaret, and extended family.

Survived by her daughter Mary (Russell), sons Patrick, Tom, Michael, Bobby and Connor, daughters-in-law Jill, Michelle, Elaine, Ailish, and Treasa, grandchildren, sister-in-law Pauline, nephews, and nieces. MUSIC: Yershovy family from Ukraine are in Kerry since 2022 and now live at Knockanure. They have performed in more than 50 concerts since their arrival here. The sisters recently performed at the MTU Cork School of Music.

MEALS on Wheels Knockanure/Moyvane would like to let people know that the meals are not just for the elderly. Anyone young or old can avail of the service. We deliver 3 days a week, Monday for Monday & Tuesday, Wednesday for Wednesday & Thursday and Friday for Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The service is handy for people who may be convalescing, after been in hospital or living alone or maybe just doesn’t like to cook. The meals are €6 for an average size and €8 for a large. MARCH FOR LIFE: Shining a spotlight on Ireland’s abortion law and calling for compassionate support systems for expectant mothers. HOSPITAL; News reports say that every competitive GAA player, has had an injury that needs hospital treatment.

BIBLE: By popular demand, Pat Higgins and Sean O Mochain are continuing their ‘Journey through the Bible’ for the next six Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30pm in Athea Library. All are welcome, no experience necessary.

ROSARY RALLY – Knock – June 1st: The All Ireland Rosary Rally is back this year on Saturday, June 1st in Knock.

WELLBEING week was held at Coláiste Íde agus Iosef in Abbeyfeale recently, coordinator and teacher, Karen Meade, with the help of the well-being committee had activities to put the focus on well-being in every aspect of the lives of everybody.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT GROUP – (over 55’s) meet in Tarbert Bridewell every Friday between 10.30am and 12 Noon. We have different activities every week followed by refreshments. New Members are welcome.

CLOTHES COLLECTION – The Shannonside Women’s Group will hold a clothes collection in the Church car park on next Thursday 9th May from 8am to 10am. The proceeds are going to the Kerry Cancer support transport bus and the Tarbert LGFA. Bags can also be dropped at the Community Centre on Wed. 8th May from 6pm to 7pm.
