July 2009
The results for last year show that Moyvane’s score improved by five points to 246. This is quite welcome as the standards are getting better by the year. We began 5 years ago with 189 points, so well done to all. Having submitted out Tidy Town’s application and plan for 2009, work is in full swing with regular clean-ups, hanging baskets erected residents busy with decorating and doing home improvements. We need your continued support and help to enhance the overall appearance of the village. Adjudicators will take into account everything from house painting, flower displays, gardens, general tidiness and litter control. Included with this newsletter is the competition adjudication results and report for 2008. We have the potential to improve this score further by concentrating on the areas outlined in the attached adjudicators report. Adjudication will take place in June to the end of July & if we are in for an award, we will be re-visited in Aug. So keep up the effort.
Dumping: This continues to be a major problem area & seems to be on the increase, despite having a CCTV system as a deterrent. It has been bought to our attention about a few areas where beer cans, ashes and other rubbish are being dumped.
