Moyvane/Knockanure C.C.E. held a very successful Irish Night at Nolan’s Bar on Thursday 29th December. A large number of musicians attended and the entertainment also included singing and storytelling from well known locals. The 1st prize winner of the draw was Mark Bakker, c/o Shanahans, Kilbaha who won the hamper. Other prize winners were Denis McCarthy, Kevin Hudson, P draig Horan, Paddy Horgan, Seamus O’Flaherty, Dan Browne, Sean O’Sullivan, Tessie O’Connor and Matt Dunne.
Thank-you to all who bought tickets, to our sponsors throughout the year and also Nolan’s Bar. Set dancing classes for all children will resume on Wednesday 11th January at 6.30pm. Next Comhaltas meeting will take place on Tuesday 10th January in the Marian Hall at 8.00pm.
Samaritans : The Moyvane/Knockanure Samaritan Collectors wish to thank sincerely those who contributed so generously and cheerfully to their collections on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Deaths : The death took place recently of Maureen McSkane (nee Doyle) at her residence, Glin Road and late of Birmingham. She was 65 years of age. She represented Birmingham in the Rose of the Tralee Festival in the early 1960’s. Her remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Friday last. Funeral Mass took place on Saturday last.
She is survived by her partner Gerald, daughters Bernadette and Una, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, aunts, relatives and friends.
The death took place recently of Catherine (Kit) O’Rourke (nee Buckley), O’Rourke’s Cross, Bruree Co. Limerick and late of Main Street, Moyvane. She was 76 years of age. Her remains were removed to St. Munchin’s Church Rockhill on Friday last. She was buried in Granagh Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Saturday last. She is survived by her daughter Patricia, brothers Fr Michael, Liam and Joe, sister Marie, son-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
The death took place of Maurice (Mossy) Kennelly Inchamore, Listowel. He was in his mid 80’s. His remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Saturday last, He was buried in Kilshenane Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Sunday last. He is survived by his son Timmy, daughter Josephine, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.
