AS the Winter has slipped away and the evenings are getting longer, some farmers have been busy spreading fertiliser, land seems to be drier this winter than for a number of years and with the milk intake of the local creamery increasing during the week, I noticed two magpies drawing nesting material and appearing to be refurbishing a nest from last year.
I also noticed two sets of jackdaws which appear to be in a heated debate on a chimney stack on which couple would take control of the flue line to hatch and rear their young. Very soon the leaves will be on the trees and the flowers blossoming and on to the nice fine days.
The AGM of Moyvane Bord na nOg will take place this Friday in the Marian Hall at 8pm. Registration will take place on Wednesday (to-night) in the Community Centre at 7pm. All players from U/10 to U/16 are asked to be there.
The death took place of Sr. Conrad Windle, Mercy Convent, Balloonagh and late of Glenalappa. Interment took place in the burial ground of Mercy Convent, Balloonagh.
