In Praise of Football:
If you would like a good night’s entertainment, head along to John B. Keane’s in Listowel this Friday night where Gabriel Fitzmaurice will launch his latest book of poems, stories and quotations to celebrate 125 years of Gaelic football. You are all welcome and the craic starts at 9.30pm.

The Valley of Knockanure:

If you missed Ger Barrett’s film at The Tintean, Ballybunion last week you can see it in the Community Hall, Athea this Thursday night starting at 8pm. Please note this suitable for a mature audience.

Moyvane seniors are at home to Lispole in Round 9 of the County League this Saturday, September 5th at 6.30pm.
DVD Launch:
The DVD celebrating the Moyvane U12 Boys trip to Croke Park will be held in Brosnan’s Bar this Friday night, September 4th at 9pm. DVDs will be on sale at a cost of €10. The winner of Moyvane Coiste na nOg Guess The Score of the Kerry v Meath game will be announced on the night.

Adult Set Dancing:
Adult set dancing with Timmy Woulfe. Beginners classes will begin next Monday, September 7th at 8.30pm.

Active Retirement Day:
An active retirement day will take place in Knockanure this Monday, September 7th at 1.30pm.

Irish Heart Foundation:
The Irish Heart Foundation will hold a collection this Saturday and Sunday at all Masses. Heart disease is still the number one killer in Ireland and the foundation which is a voluntary organisation, endeavours to research and educate in the prevention of heart disease. They are dependent on your goodwill so please give generously.
