Irish Night at Mairead’s:
An Irish Night in aid of Shane Healy, an 11 year old from the Glin/Tarbert area, who is suffering from leukaemia, will be held in Mairead’s Bar on next Saturday, August 14th. Spot prizes galore on the night. Please support this worthy cause.

Tommy Fleming Concert:
This was a thoroughly entertaining event and a credit to it’s organisers. A sellout crowd enjoyed a great night’s entertainment provided by many local artists followed by the star of the evening who went down a treat. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Moyvane ICA:
Annual outing this year is to Killarney on Wednesday, August 25th. The trip includes shopping, dinner and the Show Band Show in the INEC. Total cost is
€45. Book now with Eileen at 49337 by Friday, August 20. If you’ve never been on an ICA outing you just don’t know what you’re missing. This is the best day out so get on the phone and book now.

Moyvane GAA:
Juniors:
Moyvane juniors beat Cordal in Round 1 of the Cahill Cup played in Moyvane on Friday last on a score of Moyvane 4-11, Cordal 1-9.
Seniors: Moyvane are at home to Renard in Round 8 of the County League on Saturday, August 14th at 8pm. Please check fixture posters for any changes to this fixture.
U16s: Moyvane will play Knock/Brosna in Brosna in the County League Division 7 semi-final this evening, Wednesday, August 11th at 7pm
Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of 3,200.  Numbers drawn were 4  9  16  18.  Lucky Dips: 40.00 each Brian McGuire, Listowel. Tim Kennelly, Bally. Esther Foley, Ashgrove. The Horizon’s programme will feature our own Fr. Dan Ahern on Sunday, August 29th at 10am so make a note of it.

Seisiun 2010:
The last night of Seisiún 2010, an evening of Irish traditional music song and dance will be held this Wednesday evening, August 11th, in the Listowel Arms Hotel. The is the final opportunity for locals and visitors alike to see top class traditional music song and dance. The group for the final performance includes James Duggan (Fiddle) Davina Guerin (Fiddle and Dancer) Jane O’Shea (Fiddle and Dancer) Cailin O’Shea (Flute) Caroline Costello (Flute) Louise Bunyan (Concertina) Eoin Wren (Banjo) Sean O’Dwyer (Accordion) Singers, Edaein O’Connell & Aishling O’Hanlon, dancers, Barbara
Mulvihill & Maria Dillon & harpist Reidun Schulsinger. The show includes music song and dance from North Kerry as well as solos showcasing the individual talents of the musicians, singers and dancers. Admission is just €7 for adults and children under 12 are free. Group rates are also available. A great evening’s entertainment is guaranteed. The Kerry Emigran Associationwill hold their annual Church gate collection before all Masses on this weekend, August 14th/15th. Please support.

Death:
The death has taken place of Tessie O’Connor of Moyvane South and Barragougeen. A well respected and very popular neighbour, Tessie was predeceased by her husband Dan ‘Ryan’ O’Connor. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen, Mary & Breda, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchild Aimee.
