Moyvane Notes – 10th July, 2007

GAA – Results:
Moyvane juniors had a great win in their County League Quarter Final against Tarbert on Friday last. Leading 1-7 to 1-3 at half time, Moyvane further improved their lead in the second half emerging victorious on a score line of Moyvane 3-16, Tarbert 2-4.

Fixtures:
Moyvane Minors play St. Senans away in the North Kerry League on Thursday 12th July at 8pm.

Coiste na nOg:
U14: The U-14s beat St. Senans on Thursday last on a score line of Moyvane 5-9, St. Senans 1-8. They are now in the semi-final of the North Kerry League.
U16: The U-16s lost their away match in the County League to Glenflesk on a score line of 4-13 to 3-6 on Wednesday 4th of July. Team and scorers Brendan Galvin, Diarmuid Kennelly, Paddy Greaney, Shane Stack, Conor Leahy, Seamus Lyons, Martin Sheehy (0-1), James Flavin (0-1), Con Mulvihill, Edmund Sweeny (0-1), Thomas Quinn, Johnny Greaney(3-3), Donnacha Woods. There next match is away to Gneeveguilla on Wednesday the 11th of July.

Rain:
34cm of rain fell last week. 17cm fell the previous week in Moyvane.

Wedding:
The marriage took place of Mary Fitzgerald, Aughrim, Moyvane and Joseph Nestor, Ballyglass, Co. Mayo in Moyvane Church Saturday last, reception in Ballyroe Heights Hotel. The couple will reside in Listowel.

Athletic Club:
Training for the local athletic club will take place Tueday evenings from 6-7pm in Moyvane GAA pitch.

County Fleadh:
Successful competers in the recent County Fleadh were Bridget McCarthy, Liam Corridan, Kieran Lane and céilí band.

ICA:
The Moyvane I.C.A. annual outing takes place on Friday 20th July. This year the group will visit The Japanese Gardens and The National Stud in County Kildare. Bus leaves the village at 7.15am. Cost €60. Payment to Eileen Roche or Marie Walsh by Wednesday 18th July at the latest.

The I.C.A are inviting all knitters to come along to a knitting evening at the Marian Hall on Tuesday 17th July at 8.30pm. Bring your knitting. All welcome.
