Knockanure Vintage Day:
The Knockanure Vintage Day will take place this Sunday, August 17. All the usual events will be held, including Steam Threshing, Horse Hay Tossing, Corn Milling, Sheaf Tossing, open, confined & ladies. For the children there will be novelty events and sports from tiny tots up to under 14.
New events this year include a farm yard fowl display, horse shoeing demonstration and at 3.30pm, there will be a slow tractor race.
Fancy taking home a souvenir of the day? You can have a photo of yourself, your pet, your car or tractor taken and printed on a mug as a keepsake. This is proving very popular at other venues. As usual there will be live music from 2pm to 5pm, provided this year by a new jovial and lively group on the circuit called "St. Patrick & his Leprechaun". Refreshments will be available all day.

Graveyard Masses:
Huge crowds attended all the Masses this week. On Wednesday night, the weather played a part and the Mass had to be transferred to the Church. A special word of thanks to the Graveyard committee who put so much work into organising the Masses.
