Badminton:
The U-15 Community Games team got bronze medals at the Kerry finals played in Moyvane on Saturday last. The team was Elaine Hudson, Aileen Kennelly, Eileen McCarthy, Kevin Fitzmaurice, P.J. Reynolds, Paul Kennelly, Aidan Kennelly and Con Mulvihill.
The Senior Championships got under way in Tralee on Sunday 4th last and last years Division 4 triple winner Catriona Ambrose got off to a winning start by winning the Division 3 ladies singles title. The following juvenile players won medals at the tournament in Tralee on Saturday last – Elaine Hudson (U14) got gold, as did James Noonan (U14) while Timothy Noonan (U14) got silver, along with Siobhan Noonan (U16). The next juvenile competition is the mixed doubles championship on March 3rd.
At the Paddy Sugrue Tournament in Tralee on Sunday, Jeanelle Griffin won the Division 3, Kevin Stack was a finalist in the same division and Pat Walsh was a finalist in Division 4.
GAA – Club Membership:
Club membership for this year is now available from committee members. The fee is €30 for players and €10 for ordinary membership. Members will be entered into the draw for All-Ireland tickets in September.
Senior Trainer:
The club would like to wish John 'Jack' Mulvihill every success as he takes over as trainer of the senior team for the coming year.
North Kerry League:
Moyvane seniors are scheduled to play in the NKL on Saturday 17th February in Ballyduff at 3:30pm. The details of this game are not fully finalised so please check the 'fixture notices' around the village for confirmation.
Defibulator Course:
A three day course on the use of defibulators will be held on the 6th, 8th & 13th of March. The venue and times will be finalised over the coming weeks. Anybody interested in taking part in this course should contact Teddy Keane on 49101 for further details.

Death:
The death took place recently of Bridie Kelleher (nee Enright) O’Connell’s Avenue, Listowel and late of the New Houses, Moyvane. She was 60 years of age. Her remains were removed to Listowel Church on Sunday last, she was buried in St. Michael’s Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Monday last. She is survived by her husband, son, daughters, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
