Community Games:
Well done to the boys u 10 soccer team on winning 3 matches out of 4 in their group in Mountcoal. The team was J. J. O’Sullivan, Jack O’Connor, David Sexton McEnery, Aidan Swan, Darragh Reidy, Oisin Kennelly and Jamie O’Connor. Thank you to the coaches and parents of all the teams who are taking part in community games soccer.
Upcoming events: u12 Boys and Girls Recitation, February 15th. u8 – u16 Boys and Girls Art, March 2nd. Handwriting, u10 Boys & Girls will be held in Listowel on March 2nd. Senior Badminton:
On Monday night the Division 5 mixed team defeated Kingdom at home 6-1. The team was Michelle Corridan, Suzanne Keane, Charlotte Fitzgerald, Eileen Roche, Jamie Elliott, Timmy O’Flaherty, Oliver Carmody, and Mike Ryan. The Division 3 team defeated County 4-3 in Tralee. The team was Francine Collins, Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Dermot Keane, Kevin Kennelly, Christopher McCarth ,and James Sheehan. The Division 2 "A" mens team defeated Kingdom 6-0 in the Final of the league on Thursday night. The team was Pat Kearney, Donie Enright and Timmy Duggan. Congrats to all. On Friday night the club had three tables at the Kerry table quiz in Tralee and team of Dermot Keane, Carmel Hudson and Eileen Roche were winners.

Coiste na nOg:
Registration for all U6 to U16 players wishing to play this year will be held on Sunday 17th January in the Marian Hall from 11:45am to 1pm. A parent needs to attend to register their child, registration cost will be €15 per child for the year, with a maximum of €30 per family .

Ladies Football:
Unwanted clothes collection will take place on Thursday, February 28th between 12 and 4pm at the Community Centre Moyvane. Bags can also be dropped off on Wednesday, January 27th between 6pm and 8 pm. All unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, curtains etc accepted (no duvets /pillows). It’s time to Spring clean again, leave as many bags as you can. All funds raised will go towards running Moyvane Ladies Football Club. 

Moyvane GAA:
U21 NKC 2012 Semi-Final:  Moyvane/Clounmacon/Tarbert v Listowel Emmets on Saturday, February 16th at 3pm in Ballylongford.  Extra Time will be played if needed. 

Senior NKL RD 1:  Moyvane Seniors start off the year away to Castleisland Desmonds in Round 1 of the Division 1A NKL on Sunday, February 17th at 2:30pm.
Membership:
Club membership is now open at €40 for players and €20 for non-players.  Membership can be paid to any committee member.  Membership will close for 2013 on Friday, March 22nd, as members must be officially registered with Croke Park.

€100 Lotto:  Again this year Moyvane GAA are offering you the opportunity to buy the Lotto for a yearly sum of €100, which gives you two free draws per year.  For further details please contact any committee member.

Club Lotto: There was no winner of this weeks Jackpot of €10,900.  Numbers drawn were 4, 7, 10 and 11.  Lucky Dips of €40 each:  Martin Sheehy, Lisselton, Padraig Kissane, Murhur, Andrew Scanlon, Ballygologue Rd, Tessie Holly, Tarmons Hill and Philip Collins, Athea. Next weeks Jackpot is €11,000 and the draw will be held in Brosnan’s Bar on Sunday, February 17th at 10pm. 

Media Relations:
A six week course entitled "Media Relations and You" will commence at the Listowel Family Resource Centre on February 28th. The course is aimed at community groups/businesses/clubs wanting to learn how to enhance their media relations for their business/group or club. The course will be led by Audrey Galvin who has extensive experience in the media industry. Further details from 068 23584.

Pilgrim Hill:
Congratulations to Gerard Barrett, Kilmorna who won The Irish Film Board Rising Star Award which was screened on RTE last Saturday night. The film, Pilgrim Hill, was written, directed, edited and produced by Gerard and was shot in a week on a budget of just €4,500. The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh 2012, where Gerard won the Best New Irish Talent Award. Its North American premiere was at Telluride Film Festival where Gerard was selected as the next Great Expectation. Previous Rising Star Award recipients include the 2012 winner writer/director John Michael McDonagh, for his work on The Guard; actor Michael Fassbender received the Rising Star Award in 2009, whilst actress Saoirse Ronan was named the winner of the first Irish Film Board Rising Star award in 2008 for her breakthrough performance in Atonement. Well done, Gerard, you are in good company.


Car Boot Sale and Indoor Market:
The first fundraising car boot sale and indoor market of 2013 for WL102fm  will take place on Sunday, February 17th at the Community Centre, NCW from 8am-2pm.  Gates open 7.30am. Limerick West GIY:
Limerick West GIY with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food will hold its February meeting on Thursday, February 21st at 7pm sharp in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This months talk will be given by Rachael O’Grady who will speak about fruit trees. With the new growing season starting to get into gear this talk will be excellent for both the new grower and the experienced old hands.  There will also be a small piece about potatoes with the emphasis be on taste, disease resistance etc. GIY’s vision is for a healthier, more connected and more sustainable world where people grow their own food. The organisation brings people together in community groups and online to inspire and empower them to grow vegetables. More information from www.giyireland.com.
