The death took place recently in London of Dr. Micheál Brosnan. Son of the late Con Brosnan, holder of six All-Ireland medals, Micheál played Kerry minor for three years and was captain of the Kerry minor team that won the 1950 All Ireland. He played rugby with Rockwell at a time when rugby was frowned upon by the GAA and captained the college team to a Munster Junior Cup. An all-round sportsman he played golf and was a regular visitor at Listowel races. He is survived by his wife Caroline, daughter Kate, son James, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren, brothers Gerry & Jim. He was predeceased by his son Michael.
Last week the parish was shocked at the untimely death of Ben Mulvihill of Leitrim West. Ben was son of Denis Mulvihill and the late Tessie Lynch. He is survived by his father, Denis, sisters Anne, Kay & Rosie, brothers Pat, Nicholas, Kieran & Joseph. A huge crowd attended both the removal and funeral Mass. Sincere sympathy is extended to his family.
