DEATHS
The funeral of Patrick Bunce of Leitrim East took place last week. A very fit man Patrick had a most unfortunate accident in January and finally lost his fight for life. A gentleman who lived alone visitors were always welcome and since the death of his mother, Mamie, Patrick’s house had never changed. He was a better housekeeper than most women. He is survived by his sisters Novie, UK, Hannah, Wexford, Margaret & Teresa, Florida and Helen, UK. He was predeceased by his sisters, May & Bridget & brothers Nicky & Michael. The death also took place of Brendan Carr late of Barragougeen. Sympathy is extended to his brother Timmy. May they rest in peace.

Many of our youth have never experienced the joy of a local carnival. It is over 30 years since people flocked to Tarbert to enjoy the atmosphere and fun of Carnival weekend. But that is about to change for Tarbert is hosting Carnival weekend from June 11 to 14, 2010, complete with a comprehensive range of Amusements, Talent Show, Dancing, Fancy Dress, Donkey Derby, Tug-O-War, Racing that includes; Tots, Mothers, Fathers, Sack race, Wheelbarrow, Vintage car show, Vintage tractors, Vintage bikes, French market and much more.

The Tarbert All Ireland Talent Show Competition where the winning act/group will receive €1000 and an audition to enter the All Ireland Talent Show is up and running. The weekend features competitions in music singing and dancing, as well as workshops, concerts and informal music sessions.
