Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 11th October, 2003

MOYVANE seniors lost to Beale in the replay of the county novice championship on Sunday. This game was played in difficult conditions with wind and rain all through. Beale had first use of the conditions and started well. They put a few points on the board before Moyvane opened their account. At half time the score was 0-6 to 0-3 in Beale’s favour and Moyvane looked in a good position. With wind advantage Moyvane set about bringing down the lead. However Beale dug in and defended solidly. Moyvane reduced the arrears but just when it looked like they might get on top Beale broke upfield and scored a very good goal and it was that score that finished the game. Moyvane tried all they knew but just could not get in for the vital goal. Final score Beale 1-9, Moyvane 0-9 Next game will probably be in the county league, details next week.

Moyvane under-12 had a great win over Ballylongford/Asdee in the North Kerry championship on Sunday last. This was a very hard earned win and all the lads played very well. We will be probably playing the second round on Sunday next so players will be notified by their trainers.

Moyvane village festival which will take place during the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of this month, will include vintage display, Kerry hunt club and many novelty events.

Adult set dancing classes with Timmy Woulfe continue on Wednesday nights.

The death has taken place of Jay Kennelly, Coleraine, Co. Derry and late of Glenalappa. He was 72 years of age.
