THE FESTIVAL IS JUST DAYS AWAY, starting Friday, October 28 with a Variety Concert including the one act play “Burglary will take place” featuring local stars. Doors open 7.30pm. Programme starts at 8.00pm. Door prizes on the night also! Saturday, October 29, a night not to be missed, starring CLIONA HAGAN. This is primarily a seated concert, with some standing room and, best of all, a dance floor for those who would like to hit the floor to Cliona’s music. Doors open 8.00pm, Cliona on stage from 9.00pm followed by DJ at 11.00pm. Note that this is strictly an over 18’s event. Valid ID is required. Sunday, October 30: 12 noon Vintage Show. 1.00pm Dog Show. 2.00pm Kiddie’s Tractor Run. 3.00pm Trail of Horror (under 10’s) Prizes for the best costume & face painting. 5.00pm Trail of Horror (10+) Prizes for Best Costume. 7.30pm Bonfire Monday, October 31 is hunt day. North Kerry Harriers will start their hunt in the village at midday. 1.00pm Sam Maguire will visit along with our successful Minor County Winners. The weekend will finish on a high with the Monster Raffle draw. Top prizes include a specially commissioned painting by celebrated local artist, Tony O’Connor; 2-night stay, including breakfast and one evening meal at The Connaught Hotel, Galway; 1-night stay, including breakfast at The Woodlands House Hotel, Adare. Tickets are on sale from Moyvane Development Association committee members, Holly’s Gala, and Kennelly’s Hardware.
MOYVANE YOUTH CLUB will hold a Church gate collection before Masses in Moyvane and Knockanure on Saturday & Sunday, October 29 & 30. These funds are vital for the running of the club and any donation would be greatly appreciated. The organisers are doing a great job with the young people, the club is well supervised and has a huge membership. Last Friday evening they went bowling in Tralee and this Friday evening they have a disco. These young people are your children and deserve your support.
MOYVANE BADMINTON AGM was held Wednesday, October 19. After 21 years as club secretary, Eileen Roche is stepping away and taking up a new role with the County Board. The club would like to thank Eileen for all her hard work over the years and wish her the best of luck in her new role.
BADMINTON MEMBERSHIP Can all members please pay the 2022/2023 season membership fee. New members are always welcome. An opening season tournament for all paid up members will be held on Wednesday, November 09.
