Congratulations to the Moyvane/Tarbert U-14’s who won the North Kerry Football final. They defeated Bally/Asdee with a final score of 2-2 to 0-7. Well done to all involved.
Congratulations to Moyvane u14 girls who won the North Kerry Division 3 Shield on Saturday last in Mountcoal v Dingle. Once again these girls played their hearts out in the driving wind and rain in a very exiting match. Moyvane were up 4 points at half time but Dingle came back with some great scores to draw the game but the girls stepped up to the plate again and just pulled it off by 2 points on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-7 to end a great season after winning the County League earlier in the year. Team: Lisa Mulvihill, Ciara Haugh, Marie Kennelly, Amiee Lindsell, Maedbh McEvoy, Margaret Mulvihill, Rachel Moriarty, Moira O’ Flaherty, Sasha Brent, Muirne Wall, Grainne S. MOYVANE SENIOR BADMINTON:
The competition season got under way with a home fun tournament and the following were the results:
- Ladies winners were Mairead Sheehan and Krystel Crowley. In second place were Jeanelle Griffin and Louise Behan.
- Mens winners were John Newman and Padraig Kearney and second were Timmy Hanrahan and Jamie Elliott.
There was an excellent start to the League Season on Wednesday of last week when the Division 4A team traveled to Valentia to play Sneem/Iveragh and made the long trip worth while by winning 5-1. The team was Captain, Timmy Hanrahan, Timmy O’Flaherty, Diarmuid Fitzmaurice and Padraig Kearney. At home the Division 3 Men’s team defeated County (Tralee) by the same score 5-1. The team was Captain, James Sheehan, James Flaherty, Chris McCarthy and Kevin Kennelly. Well played everybody. Thanks to Speedy’s Bar for sponsoring both Division 4 Leagues. Play is on Monday and Wednesday nights and players are reminded that membership fees are now due “no fee paid, no insurance”. New members always welcome.
