JOHN M. Mulvihill brought off the treble, John had already won the Division four singles and doubles championship and on Sunday completed the treble when partnered by Mary Dowling, Ballyheigue he won the mixed championship. It’s the first time a Moyvane player has achieved the treble. Ian Sheehy was a finalist at the Ballyheigue tournament division four.

The Sacrament of confirmation will be administered to the children of fifth and sixth classes of the parish on this Thursday, April 11, in Moyvane Church at 2 p.m.

The death took place of Nora Buckley (nee McMahon) and late of Athea, Listowel Rd. Her remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Friday last. She was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Saturday last. She is survived by her son, daughters, relatives and friends. The death took place of Fr James Galvin a native of Dingle, and retired Parish Priest of Fossa, he was also curate in Moyvane from 1954 to 1962.

Seniors played out a draw with Cordal in the County league on Sunday last. This was a good result as it is difficult to earn points away from home. Final score was Moyvane 3 – 4, Cordal 2 – 7. On Saturday night next they play St. Senan’s in the North Kerry league in Mountcoal at 7 p.m.

The juniors were defeated by Emmets in the North Kerry league on Thursday night last by two points after a very good game. On Tuesday night they play Ballyduff in Ballyduff at 7 p.m.

Moyvane minors were unlucky to lose to Scartaglin in Moyvane on Friday. This was a very evenly contested game with only two points separating the sides in the end. On Friday night they play Ballylongford in Ballylongford at 7 p.m. Bus leaves at 6.30.

Under 14, play Austin Stacks in Connolly park next Monday in the County league at 7.30 p.m. Bus leaves the village at 6.30.

Under 16, play Tarbert in the North Kerry league in Tarbert at 7 p.m. Bus leaves the corner at 6.30 p.m.

Training starts this Sunday at 12 noon for under 12’s so all players are asked to be in the dressing rooms on time.
