Church radio link system: The provision of a church radio link system for parishioners who are unable to get Mass is being considered by the Moyvane/Knockanure Senior Citizens committee. The committee would like to establish the number of potential applicants all of whom will be expected to pay E30 to cover the cost of their own receiver. The project will cost about E10,000.
If interested please contact Eileen Collins, secretary (068) 49478, or any member of the committee before Wednesday July 31. This system already operates in a number of parishes in the county.
Poet Gabriel Fitzmaurice has been appointed principal of Murhur School. He will replace Mrs. Nola Adams who is retiring after being principal at the school since 1982 in October.
Moyvane had a great win over Ballyduff in the County League on Sunday. A goal from Donal Kearney in the first half put Moyvane in strong position. Ballyduff made a comeback but in the last ten minutes Moyvane dug in and got the vital scores to secure the points. Final score Moyvane 1-9 Ballyduff 1-7.
The juniors had a good win over Gaeltacht in the junior league on Friday. This win keeps hopes of qualifying alive.
Moyvane minors play St. Senan’s in Mountcoal this Thursday in the North Kerry league at 8pm. All players are asked to be at Brosnan’s corner at 7.15.
Badminton juvenile players have qualified to represent Kerry at the Munster Community Games Championship, which will be held in Limerick this Saturday.
