Moyvane were unlucky to lose to Emmets C in the County League Group 8 semi final, played in Clounmacon on Saturday last.  Level at the break on 4 points each, Moyvane had a great start to the second half scoring 3 unanswered points.  However goals win games and Emmets emerged victorious with the smallest of margins on a final score of Moyvane 1-10, Emmets 3-5. Seniors: Moyvane put in a very good performance in the County League at home on Sunday last when they beat Fossa on a score of 3-10 to 0-10.  Down 2 points at the break, 1-3 to 0-8, Moyvane held Fossa to 2 points in the second half through midfield dominance tight defending and accurate long ball into the forward line.  Team: Diarmuid Fitzmaurice, Denis Kennelly, Kieran Stack, Conor Flynn, Aidan Keane, Johnny Mulvihill, Owen Stack, Michael O’ Connor, Sean Lynch, Donal Leahy  (0-1), Bryan Stack (1-2), John Jack Mulvihill, Damien O’ Flynn (0-2), Paddy Curtin (1-4), Cathal O’ Connor (1-1).  Subs: Mossy Mulvihill for Denis Kennelly, Diarmuid Leahy for Donal Leahy, Kevin Kiely for Damien O’ Flynn, Mike Woods for Owen Stack, Patrick Finucane for Johnny Mulvihill. 

Fixtures:  The minors are away to Duagh in the North Kerry League on Thursday, July 16th at 7:30pm.  The U21’s will play Listowel Emmets in the 2008 North Kerry Championship Final in Ballybunion on Sunday, July 19th at 12:00 noon.

Ladies GAA: U8 and U10 training every Thursday at 6pm. U12 training every Wednesday at 7:30pm.  All welcome.

Senior Citizens:

The senior citizens outing to Ballybunion takes place on Sunday, July 19th. This should be a very enjoyable day with dinner, dancing and afternoon tea in the Golf Hotel. The bus leaves from the church car park at 12 noon. Book with Ita at 49134 or Maureen at 49365. Sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to our church gate collection which realised €833.

Knock Summer Youth Festival 2009:
The Knock Summer Youth Festival "You are the light of the world" will be held on July 23rd-26th at Knock Shrine. Do you need a weekend out? Well, grab your sleeping bag and head to Knock Shrine and join hundreds of other young people for a weekend with a difference. The youth festival will run for four days with inspiring talks, amazing workshops, music by Elation Ministries, prayer, reflection and loads of time to chill out and meet new people and make new friends. Recent Deaths:
The death took place during the week of Kit Windle nee Mulvihill of Aughrim. She was waked at her home and was brought to the Church for Mass on Thursday morning. She is survived by her daughter, Mary, son-in-law Eamon Scannell, her grandchildren, Katie, Jack, Sandra & Linda Lee, her sister Nell, brother Pat and extended family. Her burial took place in Ahavoher Cemetery.
Liam Buckley of Trieneragh, Duagh and Moyvane village also died during the week. He is survived by his wife Nellie, son Michael, daughter Mary, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, brothers Fr. Michael, Dublin & Joe, New York, sister Maria Lyons, Ballygoughlin, Glin and extended family. Burial took place in Springmount Cemetery, Duagh.
Bridie Reilly nee Fitzmaurice of Leitrim Middle died in Glasgow last week. Bridie was the eldest member of the family of Kit and the late Edward Fitzmaurice. She is survived by her mother Kit, husband John, son Peter, daughter Ann, grandchildren, sisters Christina (Birmingham), Ann (Tralee), brothers Sean (Birmingham), Brendan, Micheal, Eamon, Jody, James (Dublin) & Jerry. Her funeral will be held this week in Glasgow. Sympathy is extended to all families.
