Moyvane Notes – 13th March, 2008

GAA – Results:
Seniors – Moyvane were very unlucky to lose to Ballyduff by one point in the North Kerry League on Sunday last. Ballyduff scored an early goal and looked to be in control in the opening ten minutes but Moyvane fought back, helped along by a well taken penalty by Brian Stack, to lead at half time by 1-4 to 2-0. Moyvane, playing against the wind in the second half, looked the stronger team and added to their half-time score by a further 4 points. However, a third Ballyduff goal and last minute point left Ballyduff victorious on a final score line of Moyvane 1-8, Ballyduff 3-3. Team and scorers: Diarmuid Fitzmaurice, Eoin Flaherty, Mossy Mulvihill, Aidan Keane, Conor Flynn, Kieran Kiely, Seanie Lynch (0-3), Diarmuid Leahy, Michael Woods, Brian Stack (1-2), John Jack Mulvihill, David Moloney, Mike O Connor (0-1), Cathal O Connor (0-1). Minors – Moyvane were beaten away from home by a strong St. Mary's side in their first County League game on Saturday last. St. Mary's led at half time by 1-4 to 0-2. Moyvane narrowed the gap in the second half helped by a goal from Martin Sheehy to leave a final score line of St. Mary's 2-9, Moyvane 1-6. Shane McEnery had a great game in goals for Moyvane making some fine saves. Team and scorers: Shane McEnery, Conor Leahy, Patrick Finucane, Craig Sheehy, Eoin Stack, Diarmuid Kennelly, Diarmuid Leahy (0-2), James Noonan, Kevin Kennelly (0-2), Martin Sheehy (1-1), Padraig Keane, James Flavin (0-1), Donal Leahy. Fixtures:
Seniors – Moyvane are away to Beaufort in the first round of the County League on Sunday 16th March at 2:30pm.

Membership:
Club membership is available at €40 for players and €20 for non-players. Membership can be paid to committee members.

Ladies GAA:
Moyvane U14's are away to Scartaglin in the County League on Saturday 15th March at 2pm.
Training for U16 girls at the pitch at 11:30am on Saturday 15th March.

Senior Badminton:
In the Division 3 mixed league, the Moyvane team defeated Killarney 4-3. The team was Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Julie Fitzmaurice, Marguerite Lynch, Alan Kearney, Donie Enright and Kevin Stack.
The Division 5 Ladies team Francine Collins, Eleanor Sheehan, Michelle Corridan and Edel Normoyle defeated Listowel "B" 5-1.
