MOYVANE GAA NOTES
SENIORS Moyvane and Emmets played out a very exciting draw in the North Kerry championship on Sat. last. A fresh wind blew downfield which made things a bit tricky. Moyvane had first use of the wind and settled in very fast and were three points up before Emmets got off the mark. Coming up to half-time Moyvane got in for a vital goal. A long delievery from Eddie Bowler dropped in the square. Emmets failed to clear and Damien Flynn finished to the net to put Moyvane in a strong position at the break leading by 1 – 4 to 0 – 2. The expected comeback from Emmets materialised and they got back to a few points entering the last quarter. Exchanges were tight and tense without ever being nasty and when Neol Kennelly put Emmets in front for the first time with time almost up it looked bad for the Moyvane lads. The boys rallied upfield for one last effort and when Patrick Curtin was fouled about thirty yards out the pressure fell on Eddie Bowler. To his credit Eddie held his nerve to put over the equalising point and earn his team a replay. This game is fixed for Tarbert on Sun. next at 2.30pm. Again the very best of luck to the Tomas and his charges on Sun. and lets get out and give them our best support.
JUNIORS Moyvane’s game with Asdee did not take place last weekend as it clashed with the Under 16 final. We are asking for a refixture so we will have to wait and see what happens. More details when we get them.
TEE SHIRTS Moyvane G.A.A. are still selling club Tee-shirts at €15 each. They are good value and you are supporting your local club.
UNDER 16 Congratulations to Moyvane on winning the Div.2 title on Sun. morning last when they beat Finuge in a high scoring game in Ballybunion. Moyvane were always on top thanks to great work by Patrick Curtin, Eoin Stack and two goal hero Jonathan Greaney, but in fairness all the lads played excellent. This was a very welcome title to our club and great credit is due to trainers Ger Greaney Paddy Leahy Tomas Keane and Micheal Walsh.

Song of the Living Stones, brings together again the collaboration of the diocese with Siamsa Tira and the choirs of the diocese as in The Dance of Life , the millennium pageant. Through word, mime, music, song and dance, we get snapshots into different periods and events as Christianity unfolded in our diocese. From druidic times through the monastic period, Skelligs, Inisfallen, Cill Mhaolceadair, to the Penal times, Emancipation, Famine and the building of the Cathedral, we celebrate something of the spirit of the Christian life of our place, the tradition and Corner-Stone on which we as living stones are founded.
The choirs of Listowel deanery will participate on Sunday 27th Nov. We encourage people of this deanery to attend on this night also. Admission is free of charge, but due to limited seating capacity in the Cathedral, admission is strictly by ticket only. In this deanery tickets may be obtained from Tuesday 15th at Kennelly Travel, Listowel in 068 21124 or by calling the central no. 064 31108, Mon. to Fri. 10 5.
