Wednesday night was the most exciting night for the club so far this season with five teams contesting four finals. Apart from the Men’s Division 4, which was an all Moyvane affair, Killarney provided the opposition in the other three. The final results were three wins and two R/U. Moyvane Division 4 A team were just lucky to overcome the B team, it was 3-3 but they came through by a couple of sets. The Division 3 Men and Ladies both proved too strong for Killarney and the Division 4 Ladies just went down to a very strong Killarney team. Players were, Division 4 Ladies, Eleanor Sheehan, Krystle Crowley, Eileen McCarthy and Louise Behan. Division 3 Ladies, Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Helen Browne and Lisa Sayers. Division 4 A men Timmy Hanrahan, Timmy O’Flaherty, Padraig Kearney and Diarmuid Fitzmaurice. Division 4 B men Jamie Elliott, Timmy Noonan, Ivan O’Brien and John McGrath. Players who played in earlier rounds included John Newman and Ollie Conyard. This was a superb performance from everyone and it looks promising going in to the Mixed season.

At the Listowel Invitation Tournament on Saturday, Jeanelle Griffin and Jamie Elliott were finalists in the Masters Competition. On Sunday Division 4’s Ivan O’Brien, Moyvane and Mary Bradley, Castleisland beat Eleanor Sheehan, Moyvane and Michael O’Connor, Castleisland. Congratulations to Moyvane Badminton Club which goes from strength to strength.
