BINGO
Don’t forget Thursday night is Bingo night and once again the prizemoney has been increased so why not come along take some home with you. The people who come to Bingo are most generous and once again they proved it last week when they contributed almost €200 to a collection in aid of Cork University Hospital.
 

FESTIVAL TIME
Another year, another Festival. It’s that time of year again and what a fun filled weekend there is in store for all ages. To start the weekend you can reel back the Carnival years with “Royal Flush” who will play in the  marquee on Friday night from 8.30pm to 11.30pm. Saturday is children’s day with loads of activities for every age group. There will be a workshop in the  community centre for children over 5 and a FIFA tournament for age 10 and upwards. On Saturday night the adults have a chance to enjoy themselves at the annual Boro Buffet with live  music and entertainment. Sunday starts is Vintage day, plus Mini Trade Show, Dog Show, Bonnie Baby, Glamorous Granny and Puppet Show, Youth Club Walk. Sunday night in the Marian Hall you can enjoy a Variety Concert which includes a Comedy Sketch. Monday Sam Maguire comes to Moyvane and of course there’s the Hunt, Halloween Fancy Dress Party for u12’s in the Marian Hall and the final of the Gaa Football Tournament. SENIOR BADMINTON
The first success of the Season came when Jamie Elliott and Timmy  Hanrahan won the grade F Men’s Doubles at the Bride, Co. Cork  tournament on Sunday. Congratulations lads. Timmy Hanrahan secured a double win when playing with Mags Fitch from  Mallow when he won the Mixed Doubles. Well done Timmy, a great start to the season.

DEATHS
Joan (Molyneux) Mulvihill of San Antoine, Moher, Moyvane passed away on Monday, October 6th. Formerly of St. Joseph’s Street, Limerick Joan is survived by her husband Paddy, son Michael, daughter-in-law Jennifer, grandson’s Paul and Shane, nieces and nephews. Requiem Mass  for Joan Mulvihill was celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery.
The death of Mary Ellen (Riordan) Flaherty of Keylod, Moyvane also took place on the same day. Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Michael and children,  Mary, Tadhg, Helen, Kate, Angela, Mick, and Liz, her sons-in-law,  partners, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.  Requiem Mass for Mary Ellen Flaherty was celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery. Mary Ellen and Michael were married for 56 years last February. May they rest in peace.
